Heaven Upon Rice Fields

It’s rarely that a hotel lives up to its name, even if it is somewhat imaginative. I cannot fault this hotel at all, in fact my 2 night stay turned into 4 nights just so I could sit on my 3rd floor balcony and gaze over the peaceful rice paddy at the back of the hotel, it was quite therapeutic. I would definitely recommend a balcony room on the 3rd or at least 2nd floor. My room was large and spotless, the staff beyond polite and helpful and the food basic but tasty and great value. As the name suggests, the hotel is situated literally on a rice paddy, this of course means that it’s a little more of a challenge to get to, however the hotel has bikes and scooters to rent and a Tuk Tuk can be with you in minutes, meaning the peace and quite is sublime. If you want to see the sights, which cost $35 a day collectively, simply rent a bike and cycle around at your leisure. If you’re mobile you can also drop in at a great restaurant collective a little further up the main road called Hela Bojun Hala for lunch, it’s a bit of a challenge but worth the effort.
