Zafiro Can Picafort

This was our second trip to this hotel; the last time being about 3 years ago and having read some of the recent reviews I was a little worried but these concerns were entirely unfounded. We had an amazing holiday and would return. We booked direct with Zafiro and despite knowing there were two hotels in Caan Picafort I still managed to book the wrong one! I realised straight away and all it took was one email and our booking was changed within 24 hours. Amazing service. Rooms are minimalistic but it helps keep everything clean and tidy; especially when you are in and out of the pools all day. Main bedroom is very spacious and all beds really comfortable. I especially love the bathrooms which have a bath and an amazing shower. We had a swim up room which I would recommend for the lovely decking area. We had our own sunbeds and it was just convenient to have that as our base during the day. We were more than happy with the food. Always plenty of choice in the buffet and very fresh. It’s not ‘hot hot’ but I wouldn’t expect that with a buffet. We ate at the pool bar at lunch and again the food was good and it’s nice to mix up the buffet with a restaurant experience and be waited on. We took a 5 and 11 year old. Both loved it. There is more there for younger kids but the tweenager found her fun. There are so many pools it’s easy to keep everyone entertained. Shout out to the animation team who seem to have bottomless energy and who were so caring towards the children. To be fair all the staff are happy and welcoming across the resort. This was our first peak time holiday and I was dreading crowds and queues but it never happened. The resort felt busy but we never queued for anything bar 1 or 2 people ahead of us. Yes there are some early risers who get up and put towels down but there were always plenty of sunbeds at 9am and seats in the evening. The big slide and trampolines were open when we went and we took advantage of both. Nice little extras. Top tips - there is a separate drinks menu in the bar in the evening that I could never find on the app with more cocktails and Ice cream sundaes! Paper menu by the bar. There is also a fridge in the evening bar with sandwiches and fruit and snacks. We booked a hire car with OK Mobility and the queues for collection were horrendous. They operate a ticket system and we were number 90 and they only on 60! Best avoided. Passport control took ages upon arrival. Was also awful coming back. More so because a lot of people around us were on the verge of missing flights. Don’t hang around in palma; head straight through to your gate area asap! So overall a great resort that ticks all the boxes!
