Hotel Jaime I

This was a 30th anniversary return visit to our honeymoon hotel. We were not disappointed. All the good stuff from 1994 was still there, along with the wonderful friendly staff. The rooms now have air con, and have obviously been redone a few times since then, but are still a comfortable place to be with full size bath in the en-suite. The food is an all-you-can-eat buffet and caters to most tastes. They even offer dairy free. There’s always a staff member there, when you want something, but otherwise they’re very unobtrusive. The hotel is vast. I’m sure it must originally have been at least 3 separate hotels, but there’s plenty of room for everyone. We occasionally had to queue for the restaurant, but the queue moves quickly and it wasn’t a problem. There are three restaurants, including an outdoor one, but we like the one in the main building, so we have not tried the other two. There’s a full gym, if you’re into that, a games room, escape room, water slides, two open air pools, splash zones for both adults and kids, bars, sunning areas, both poolside and more secluded, and entertainment most nights. The kids club looked to be fun, though we had no suitable aged child to experience it and verify that. We really did not want to leave, at the end of our week. The only disappointment was, due to the bad weather (cold and wet for most of Western Europe, in 2024) the water parks had closed a couple of weeks earlier than advertised, so we stayed in the hotel complex every day. No hardship, as we hadn’t time to experience everything Jaime 1 has to offer, anyway. The hotel is ideally located, a 5 minute stroll from the beach, about 2 minutes from shopping streets, which cater to both tourist needs and more routine shopping. There is a park across the road and if you come through Reus airport, it’s only a short taxi ride. Don’t bother with the tourist shuttle bus. If I could go every year, I’d be thrilled. Can’t rate it highly enough.
