B&B Finca El Juncal

I stayed in Finca El Juncal with my 2 kids in April.
The place is beautiful and serene, in the countryside (whilst remaining close to the highway).
The pool is absolutely huge, there are lots of place to sit in the shade in the garden, and everything is very tasteful.
The breakfast is healthy and good, dinners with the hosts are amazing.
Note that the rooms are quite simple and the bathroom is shared, anyway you are not there to stay inside but to visit beautiful Andalucia. High five to Finca !

Travelling in Andalusia took us to some run-of-the-mill types of accommodation but Finca el Juncal was by far the most relaxing place we stayed on the trip. Well organised and hospitable hosts in Rick and Stef who run a tight but relaxing ship. The massive pool was a brilliant surprise and just the shot after a long days travelling and sight seeing.

Stef, a chef, produced a magnificent fine dining experience on our first night and later that night Rick led us into town to the local fiesta and live bands in the square.

30 minutes drive into Cordoba with an 'interesting' castle along the way.

By far one of the best places I stayed in Spain this year. Highly recommended and I would definitely return again if the opportunity allows.

We stayed for five nights in Finca El Juncal in July 2014 and enjoyed every minute. It is a wonderful place and Rick and Stef, the two very hospitable hosts, make you feel at home at once. Stef is a chef and prepares delicious dinners a few days a week. The first night at dinner we got to meet the other guests with whom we had a wonderful evening until late. We cherish the memory of our stay in Finca El Juncal.
From the finca it is only half an hour drive to Cordoba and there are many other interesting things to do in the vicinity. There are four cats at the finca, a sheep called Victoria, and chickens who produce the fresh eggs you get in the morning for breakfast. The pool in the very well kept garden is very large indeed and most welcome on hot summer days. Thank you, Rick and Stef, for having made our stay so nice!

Finca El Juncal turned out to be a lovely surprise in many aspects. The fun started with an incredibly tastefully decorated room with comfortable beds. Every room is in a different colour, needless to say I chose purple :)
The garden and the relaxation area around the enormous swimming pool are a dream come true. A little bar next to the pool also helps greatly :)
Hosts Stef & Rick are inredibly welcoming and relaxed, they possess that special ability to make everybody feel right at home.
But then, incredibly, the best had yet to come. Quite practical to have dinner at El Juncal too, so settled for that. Unexpectedly, a 3 course Michelin star culinary treatment followed, wow. Very tasty food, fantastic presentation, and, best of all; made with L.O.V.E. No wonder Stef turned out to be a professional caterer who just seems born to cook.
Stayed for 2 nights and did some great hiking in the nearby Sierra de Hornachuelos. All in all, a wonderful experience. I'll be looking for an excuse to come back here, that's for sure.

We stayed for 1 night at Finca El Juncal. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer as it's a lovely property (but we were on a hectic road trip)! The owners Rick & Stef are very welcoming and encourage you to make their home your own. There's a fantastic big pool, pretty gardens and the rooms are fine. They are in the process of re-decorating the rooms and ours hadn't been done yet but it was still totally fine. You do have to share bathrooms but as it's quite a quiet property anyway it's not really an issue. They do a lovely breakfast too and dinner (although we didn't eat there in the evening). The finca's about 20mins from Cordoba and it's a great chance to escape and just experience a charming little Spanish farmhouse. I'm sure if you go you'll have a lovely time!
