VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa

What a fantastic place! We upgraded to selection club upon arrival, and we were glad that we did. We got a larger room with a garden and whirlpool. The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much hassle. If you can afford to upgrade I would recommend for the following reasons. The selection club location has beautiful views and is less busy. You can dine in the restaurant La Terraza for breakfast and lunch as well as 3 nights per week. The rooms are bigger, which helped as we were a family of 4, travelling with an infant and there was plenty of room for a cotbed. There is an exclusive selection club pool with lots of cabana beds, and it is much more relaxing and quiet compared to the main pools. The main hotel complex is also fantastic. So much to do for children. The animation team are brilliant. The mini discos every night were a big hit with out youngest. A highlight was the foam party, which currently happens every Tuesday afternoon. There are 3 pools with kids slides and the bouncy pillow. The soft play and bouncy castle are great for younger children. The main restaurant, Caprice, was a good standard for all inclusive. Plenty to chose from and a children's section with plastic plates and cutlery. We used the sports bar for lunch daily and it is of a great standard. Special mention for staff that made our holiday special; Dani, Renatta and Carolina in selection club. Jakob in main reception. Areas for improvement - self service soft drinks would help with bar queues during the day. Removing pool towels of unused sunloungers, as it can be difficult to get one if you arrive late to the main pool areas.
