Monrooms Barcelona Apartments

We'd booked at twin room, but Albert kindly gave us room 8, which has a double bed and a sofa bed, so could sleep 4. The en-suite had a decent sized shower with amazing pressure (it was too much for me on full blast!). The painted murals on the walls either side of the bed were a beautiful touch. Yes, it wasn't 5-star accommodation for 'poshness' but it was very clean, perfect for us so we could choose when to get up, and extremely great value compared to other accommodation in the area. Lesseps is at the top of Gracia area of Barcelona; Albert gave fab recommendations for places to eat & visit, and bigger supermarkets (plenty of gluten free products), & a launderette about 7 mins walk away. Room 8 has a balcony with a seat, so we could dry our clothes & also sit outside and watch the world go by (does look over side street & you could hear main road at the bottom of the street when the door & windows open). But at night, was quiet & didn't disturb our sleep at all. The kitchen was great, there was a kettle, double hob, microwave, pots/utensils, a shelf per room in fridge/freezers. A truly relaxing place & superb hosting by Albert and his friend Geordi (nothing too much trouble).. Such a great find on Booking.com. We definitely recommend Monrooms as a place to stay - it's basic, but clean, very comfy & tidy, breakfast not included, but there's a small shop and bar below Monrooms which doesn't make much noise - our room was above the bar but didn't disturb us at all). If you're looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay, then Monrooms is the perfect place to stay. If you do want posh, you need to look elsewhere and be willing to pay at least 5 times more a night (Barcelona isn't cheap! It was great value, ideally located a 4 minutes walk from Lesseps Metro which is on the main line through Barcelona. The metro is clean and feels safe. We'll be back!! Disliked · The only little thing I can think of is that the pillow cases squash the pillows into a thin rectangle (no protectors that I feel are needed & the covers are more for bolster type cushions and not pillows) - recommend some new pillows; also that some of the towels look a bit shabby and frayed around the edges - but everything is very clean!
