Very good
954 reviewsI have been travelling to castle harbour for 30 years and read many reviews on this site that I don't always agree with, so I hope this review will help clear up some of the conflicting reviews. Castle harbour is NOT a normal run of the mill holiday complex , it is a private residence. There are people that live here all year round. Some owners rent their appts for months at a time and some to holiday makers. There are numerous company's that the owners use to rent the appts and every company is different in the way they look after it. You may read on some reviews we only had 1 clean/towel change on some reviews every 3 or 4 days. You just need to read what your company does. Every appt is different in its appearance because they are all individually owned, some appts are lovely and well looked after, with nice furnishings, new bathrooms and kitchens, but some are not and really dated. So u will read conflicting reviews about the condition of the appt The swimming pool is a lovely area, there is a great onsite bar/ resturant that sells everything and at very reasonable prices, the sun beds are made available by Frank the nice life guard. He makes sure any unused beds are put away and so most of the day you are not on top of each other. He starts at 10 in the summer. A previous review said they went to book there sunbed and parasol (u can not book anything] you pay for a ticket at reception for a sunbed and if they have umbrellas left u can pay for one of those to. One of the previous reviews mentioned that they paid £10 a day per sun bed. (NOT TRUE) The fee for beds are 2€ for a bed 2 for a brolley. U can also buy a weeks worth of sunbed tickets at a discount 14 tickets for €20 I think there are other discounts for longer. I have never travelled in the school holidays, in my experience and I have been here probably more than 20 times at 2 weeks at a time, have i ever experienced idiots putting there towels down at 9am. Some people come down about 9.45, this morning for example there was 14 people waiting at 10am. The only issue around the pool is some people can't read which is a shame in these times. The sign says use your head phones but unfortunately some people think they are above the rules and feel there enjoyment should be to the detriment of others (selfish) maybe Frank could enforce the rules. The surrounding area is great for restaurants and entertainment bars. Our average price for 2 starters 2 mains 2 wine 2 beers €50, average beer/wine price €3 you could spend two weeks here and not even have to go in to los cristianos. The walk to the beach is aprox 15 ish mins down a steep hill. Cab back 5€. Sorry for the length of the review but felt it was needed.
