We enjoyed our stay at this camp! - the staff is amazing! We had very friendly moments with them at the camp, very attentive and concerned about getting us to have a good stay - the kitchen was delicious! The meals are different every day and well presented, we enjoyed the whole stay both for breakfast and dinner - the guides were great and gave many interesting explanations throughout the safaris (/! if you don't master the angle very well it can be difficult to follow) - We saw many animals in the private reserve, the guides communicate with each other the position of the animals for us from a small maximum, one is not to allow the presence of the animals and the other is very variable! - our lodge cake was perfectly prepared, with a very nice, perfectly designed kitchen!

An Unforgettable Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Africa on Foot. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable.  The morning walks and afternoon game drives provided amazing immersion in the African bush and we have great memories of close encounters with lions and elephants as well as great sightings of other wildlife and birds. The accommodation is comfortable with all the facilities you need and the meals were all very good.
No negatives at all, everything was great.


Great place to experience the African Bush

It was my first time in Africa and I couldn’t have had it any other way than how I experienced it with Africa on Foot! The small group (6 pax) made it easier to experience a personalised approach in terms of game drives, bushwalks, and meals together.
The tour guides (Calvin, Tyler, Connie), Meallie and the rest of the staff made my stay memorable. I went to Africa for a marathon and stayed with Africa on Foot a week prior. I was really worried about running in a game reserve (Entabeni) where animals were free to roam. Talking with Calvin calmed my fearful nerves. His knowledge and understanding of animals and how they behave helped in terms of me being comfortable and safe to be running in the wild.
We got really close to the animals but I always felt safe mainly due to the presence of knowledgeable tour guides. It was more than seeing the animals or chasing them down. It was about understanding them and realising that we are all part of nature. It was a very humbling experience in a very majestic environment.


A Great Orientation for Those Going on a Safari for the First Time!

Africa on foot camp was a perfect lodge and experience for us. Located within a magic landscape, the rooms and infrastructure offer a super quality environment . Connie and her team welcame us with lots of attentions and I want to particularly mention the passionate rangers team who guided us during the incredible safaris we made. Food was amazing too and the cocktails at sunset in the bush completed our satisfaction !

A very special lodge and team who made our expérience unique 

Africa on foot provided a very different perspective on safari, allowing us to a closer experience with nature and also appreciate the lodge's eco-friendly approach, such as generating hot water through a simple woodfire. The guides, Luke and Tyler were incredibly knowledgeable, and their passion for wildlife was evident. Spotting wild dogs, cheetahs, and lions stealthily stalking a wildebeest added an extra layer of excitement. The personalised approach of Konnie, Meallie, Tyler and Luke made us feel part of something very special. Thank you everyone for a memorable experience.

Getting closer to nature 

Just left AOF camp this morning. I couldn't wait to leave a review while the experience was still so fresh in my mind.
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We were met on arrival by the lovely Mellie. After a friendly but thorough briefing (including the important safety do and don't warnings) we went to our chalet. This was spacious and comfortable but don't expect luxury hotel accommodation.  If you are used to ecolodges then you will know the drill: solar powered (so odd power outages now and again); wood-fired boiler for the hot water etc. But beds are comfy and clean. You might have the odd lizard on the wall but they won't charge extra for it!
I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the food. I am a vegetarian and was catered for wonderfully - if the cook was for sale in the shop I would have brought her home with me.
Our guides were Luke and Tyler. I was told about Luke by another guide from a lodge I had visited earlier. My expectations were high but they were exceeded - he really knows his stuff.  I can't say too much here about everything we did out in the bush, but you get much more than you pay for. It's just like having a masterclass with Ray Mears or Bear Grylls. Even if you can't find too many animals on the walk you will still learn how to track and identify animals, as well as pick up tips on how to survive in the Bush (elephant poop tea, source water with a magic bush, or light a fire with wild cotton, after removing the seeds of course). 
The best part of the day for me was the chats around the fire and over dinner. Tyler, Luke and Connie are great company, very funny and smart. Guests really are lucky to be in this group.
We saw too many animals to remember.  I have been on safari before but this was my first time to be amongst African Wild Dogs for two days. Luke managed to keep up with them across country at speed which was really thrilling. We also followed a cheetah (my favourite big cat) and lions stalking wildebeest and zebra.
My wife and I are already planning to revisit towards the end of 23 (fingers crossed we are lucky enough to get Tyler and Luke again).

Go with the right expectations and you will have a great time

We spent 4 nights at Africa on Foot in the wet, summer season and it is an experience that will stay with me forever. The 4 members of the guiding team ( Connie, Luke , Danelle and Tyson) were warm , welcoming and enthusiastic. Our trip coincided with once in a generation rain but that didn't dampen ours or their spirits. The walking safaris were limited because of the rain but we still saw ( and heard!) some amazing wildlife. Stand out experiences were seeing two hippos mating and our lone game drive cruiser being surrounded by a small herd of elephants . We also saw a leopard walking across the road, oblivious to us. And the advantage of the season was we saw quite a few young, including a baby rhino and a buffalo that was a few hours old. The wildlife don't seem a threat but they felt more reserved than the other safari we did, which makes for an amazing experience. You feel you are lucky to see them.  For three of our nights there was just us and another couple but in any case there are only 5 "cabins" so the camp has a very intimate feel. Meals are shared with other guests with one of the rangers acting as host, which we really enjoyed as it was enriching to get to know other people. The rangers were also attentive during other moments, always asking us if they could get or do anything for us. Amazing service - and I liked the fact that from this point of view there was no distinction between types of role. It all made for a welcoming and warm experience. The accommodation was as expected, fairly basic from one point of view but we had a comfortable bed, a decent shower and electricity at all times thanks to the solar panels. Wifi was always available in the communal areas. The food was abundant and very tasty. I will never forget our time at Africa on Foot, thank you to all the team.

A place and people that touched my soul

What a great place to stay. The lodge is well maintained and the staff is wonderful.
Mike and Thomas did everything to give us spectacular gamedrives, and they succeeded. We saw so many species. The bushwalk was a different kind of safari and a great way to experience the bush. 

Perfect

We were in Africa on foot for four nights in September. We consciously chose a normal and family lodge without Chichi. We were all about the nature experience. We really enjoyed every day and every morning bush walk and evening game drive. We want to express a very special thanks to Luke and Conny who put in a very hard time to look for all the animals. We learned a lot about fauna and flora. Campr was competent, super friendly and always approachable. It was very clean and well maintained.

It's wonderful.
