Himeville

Parking access to some cottages are restricted. You have to park far from especially Rose Cottage. You have to lug your luggage far. In the rain this is quite challenging. The grass is very water logged. 

We felt ourselves like we were staying in the museum or at least as we were in a movie. We had lovely time by the fireplace in the living room. 
It’s the closest place to Sani Pass to stay. There are also some small path to walk.

Amazing venue , lots of history . Our host was amazing , fresh scones . Lots of Baboons . Best kept secret in the Sani Valley . Trout fishing tops with one of the best dams I have seen and fished in a long time . The grounds are kept as a Pro Golf Course . 
Will be back !

I would really recommend the place to anyone.
We will sure visit the place next time, and i'm hopeful it will be much sooner than expected.

a great experience all round, will be going back.
we stayed in Stone Cottage. Its was very comfortable and clean and serviced every day. The fresh scones every morning were a welcomed treat.
They even had backup for the loadshedding.

We stayed in Stone Cottage, and it was delightful! So peaceful and comfortable, and Betty and her team met our every need. The scones in the morning were amazing, and the surrounding walks were beautiful. Betty helped with some difficulties we had sorting out Sani Pass tour arrangements. We loved our time there.

Great starting point for hiking and excursions to Lesotho and Sani Pass! Clean and cozy! The best were the freshly baked, warm buns for breakfast!!! We enjoyed it. Clear boiling!!!

We had a lovely peaceful break at Mkomazana. Perfect to escape Durban's humidity! From the warm welcome to the well equipped cottage and quiet scenic walks, we had everything we needed. The lack of cell phone signal only added to the restful stay! Thank you!

The location is great for a city escape; surrounded by nature, mountains, lakes and not forgetting the water falls. The cottage is quite spacious and delicious scone by the door the next morning. Our kids loved it too

Great Escape

In the US they would have put glass walls round all the buildings, and have rangers with guns making sure you do noting more than look. This is trading post is very much part of the history of the area, and you can stay in the original buildings. Our cottage had some serious looking safes built into the walls. While the hustle and bustle of the trading post have been replaces with tranquillity, you absolutely feel you are in a living museum. The cottage we stayed in was extremely comfortable, without modern decoration it was cosy – a real fire in the bedroom for example.

The more recent history is also amazing to see, the fantastic lady that looks after the place may talk about it a little.

We were very sad to leave – you can't describe how being here makes you feel – you have to go and experience it for yourself.
