Guesthouse Soul Ljubljana

So glad I found this amazing guesthouse - would 100% use again Liked · I've just returned from a 3-night stay at Guesthouse Soul and it's one of the best-value accommodations I have ever stayed in. When I was considering booking, the only negative reviews I saw were regarding the CCTV in communal areas and the fact that you need to wear slippers around the property - for me, these gave me confidence that I would have a pleasant stay, however. In particular, the CCTV works well as it encourages other guests to respect each other and keep communal areas clean. If you intend to respect the property and fellow guests, then you have nothing to worry about. The slippers also keep the floors clean and are comfy (you get provided with a freshly cleaned pair on arrival). The shared bathroom (I only used one of them) was always impeccably clean, very spacious and I never had an issue with it not being free. The shower was extremely clean and one of the nicest I have ever used. People didn't overuse the hot water. On the first day, the toilet paper in the bathroom was a bit scarce and eventually ran out at night; it was replaced the next day, however. It was unclear how to use the bathroom blinds as I hadn't seen that type before - I was slightly afraid to break them. My room was spacious and the right temperature, and the bed and pillow was very comfy. Communication with the host is clear and fast; you do not meet them but you can always send them a message if there are any problems / you have questions. The property is a bit further out of the city centre than others, but it is worth it for its great value. You can catch frequent buses to the city centre which take 10-15 minutes and cost 1.30EUR per 90-minute ride. The property felt safe. The main road can be a little bit noisy in the daytime, but this wasn't an issue for me at night. On balance, it's fine, as it's really close to ALDI (Hofer) and the bus stop. The kitchen has all the necessary utensils - there's no oven but I believe this a good thing as it prevents guests overusing the kitchen. The dining room is nice and has access to a balcony with a view of the river. If you're looking for a cheap place to doss about and socialise with others all-hours, then book a hostel. If you're looking for a great-value, clean accommodation where you can get a good night's sleep and some privacy whilst not breaking the bank, then look no further!
