We found Atlantis Evasion after a two bad experiences in a row at other hotels in Plateau. We were pleasantly surprised to find the owner and staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the food was delicious. The rooms themselves are quite basic (although lovely decor for the beds in particular) but compared to many other hotels in Dakar this was a diamond in the rough! We had stayed in two other hotels already and visited 4 other hotels to view the rooms on the sea front before booking taht evening and this was the best. Madrouge hotel (next door) - staff are rude, unhelpful and overpriced - I'd recommend Atlantis Evasion a thousand time over them. Good location, you can see NGor island and get a boat taxi there in the day. 15min drive to the shopping centre Plateau by taxi is 6000 CFA (taxis will try to charge you more - but stand your ground and haggle!)
