ERA SPA Hotel

My wife and I stayed here during the World Cup for two nights. It's not a 5 star luxury hotel, but we definitely had a 5 star experience. The staff don't speak the best English, but Kaliningrad isn't exactly the first place you think of if you were to visit Russia. Despite the language barrier, the staff couldn't have been nicer. The few that did speak English were always willing to help translate when we needed something. When a local stole our taxi to the England/Belgium match, the manager arranged for a friend who was at the hotel to drive us as far as he could before we got to the security checkpoint. Something he obviously didn't have to do, but they went out of their way to try and make you feel as welcome as possible. We had a basic room with a double bed and ensuite bathroom. It's a place to sleep and shower and that's all you really need in the first place. The staff in the bar were absolutely amazing. After the England/Belgium match, they kept the bar open an extra hour for us to continue our World Cup celebration and allowed us to continue the party. We did not have time to use the spa facilities as we were only there for two nights and checked out the morning after the match. Friendly staff, and a place to sleep, what more do you need? I can't see us ever returning to Kaliningrad for anything, but we'd recommend for visitors to the area. Thanks for making our World Cup experience memorable!
