We have spent a lovely short holiday here, on New Year's Eve. Good conditions for accomodation and restaurant offers - though a little difficult for us, asking for a non-meat menu. Truly appreciated the way everyone tried to please every guest. Excelent music every evening and highly considered Acord Band. Though the small town is not spectacular, you will definitely enjoy the natural park, the ski slope and the big family of ducks on the central river... A place worth to be visited. Thank you, Dorna Hotel, Vatra Dornei!

Winter Story

The hotel offers excellent accommodation conditions, cleanliness, excellent and diverse menu, facilities for customers (access to the spa, children's playground, massage and other therapeutic relaxation procedures). The friendliness of the staff is a great asset!
The position of the hotel is the best: near the slope, park and other attractions other area.
We will definitely be back!

Everything is superlative!

We spent our spring holiday in Vatra Dornei, mixing balnear, spa and hiking.
The hotel is clean, cozy and there are all facilities for a 4* clasification. We have visited Vatra Dornei outside the snow season, and before the summer one. 
The rooms are large and there is a better view at the top floors.
Proffesionaly balneo treatments are performed  in the hotel's basement and on the 2nd floor.
There is an exterior elevator with a nice view.
The breakfast is assisted buffet or a-la-carte, but there are plenty of solutions for regular breakfast with added specialities.
Soup can be ordered until 5PM, and is fairly good.
The dishes are covering al the needs, all with great taste and nice presentation.
Must try the local specialities with cheese and with polenta, pork grill and sprout. Pizza and pasta can be a solution, also. Waiting time is fair. There is a menu for the ones who are fasting.
The service is fast and smile is omnipresent. 
 Pleasant stay, so we will visit Dorna again.

 SPA center closed - we were not notified about this at the time of booking.  Initially we booked through Booking, but paying with "holiday tickets" we were recommended to cancel that reservation for a room and take an apartment as only that is still available ...
 Cleanliness - ok
 Reception staff - friendly;  the one at the bar less
 Dinner - a la carte = very good: good food, generous portions, kind waiter

Vatra Dornei 4star hotel in pandemic time

We chose for the end of the year to spend few days in this hotel, and have of course also the New Eve party. The program offered by hotel with this ocassion was very good. We stayed 4 days with all inclusive but the price paid was expensive. The room was excellent for its standards, you can see from my photos. The bathroom excellent equipped with all you needded and  also large.
The restaurant was good and food very good. But the manager have a problem with the moments when he chose to arrange people for the New Year Eve. Very crowded and very uncomfortable to get out from the table, and go to dance or go in other place where you need. The personal was brilliant like behaviour and in all 4 days they did everything for people to make us feel very good. 
They have also pool, a decent spa and a great place for different modern medical trataments. 
Hotel has his place for parking cars and he is placed near the ski party very good when you come in winter for a holiday.
I recommend this also for its very good facilities, for the good food and the attitude of personal which is very carying with its guests.
For sure we will come back for a short holiday in summer.

Great place for a holiday

A delightful stay. Room was quiet, clean, bed excellent.  Staff was more than courteous.  Food selection varied.  Quality and portions more than one can eat.
Had massage which was one of the best had. Pool had warm water.

Mini Vacation

Big clean room,  all necesary hygiene items for a 4 star hotel room, nice staff, a decent spa, good breakfast, in short everything needed for a pleasant one night stay in Vatra Dornei...probably in winter holydays this hotel is more animated.  

A decent 4 star hotel

We stayed with Pet one night occupying two rooms: the double was large but with disputable taste furnishings, the double was smaller but better furnished, both of them not very bright. The beds were comfortable and guaranteed us a good rest. The price is quite high for the area but includes an excellent breakfast and access to a spa with a small swimming pool with salt water. We haven't tried the restaurant but it seems to be of good quality.

Comfortable living

Hotel Dorna was by far the best place we've ever stayed in, the service went above and beyond our highest expectations. The location was very easy to find and clearly signposted, and the room was very spacious. The bathroom was well equipped with everything you need, from towels to robes and slippers and a wide selection of toiletries and other bits. The access to the spa, indoor heated pool and several saunas made our stay even more relaxing and worthwhile. The restaurant was absolutely brilliant, the best food we've had in years, especially the local cuisine. Buffet breakfast had something for everyone, including vegan options, lots of fruit and the best yogurt ever. 
The staff were more than friendly and willing to answer any questions we had or help us promptly with anything we needed. 
The room was cleaned every day and the overall service went beyond excellent.

Excellent service throughout and exquisite cuisine

We went with all the family and stayed for 4 nights. Adorable people who work here and very friendly with the kid. 
The rooms are very clean and equiped with massive wood furniture. Every room has a jacuzzi shower.
The pool is not big but very nice for rainy days. The water inside around 30 degrees.
The food is great and big. Very big :) The prices are medium for a lot of food you get.
It is very close to a big parc and 5 minutes walk from the city center.
Around 1 hour driving is Mocanita old steam train, a wonderful experience for adults and kids.
