Great location close to the Camino, restaurants and pasticerias.     The Staff was helpful and the room clean with balcony and we had a river view.    Guests have access to what looked like a full kitchen.  We had our meals out but we did take advantage of the $1 glass of Port. ( self serve Honor system - love it )    A family run business and everyone was friendly and helpful.

Good place to give your feet a rest.

It is located in the center of the village. It is a hostel with individual rooms. The lady who received me, Ana, is very kind and friendly. The room is on the ground floor and is spacious and very clean. The bathroom is equally spacious and very clean. The quality/price ratio seemed very good to me. I was like the final stage of the Portuguese Camino por la Costa. If I fly to Esposende I would not hesitate to stay there again. I recommend it without hesitation. I am referring to an individual room, the shared ones I do not know and cannot comment on.

Hotel with individual rooms.

We were warmly greeted by Ana who checked our vaccination certificates, checked us in and showed us to our room on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the river.
There is a communal dining room and well equipped kitchen on the ground floor with seating inside or outside in the garden. There is plenty of life going on around the thoroughfare outside the hotel and one must take a walk on the promenade. In the evening, we took cheese and wine up to our balcony to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the river.
Good, firm beds make for a great night’s sleep. We made our own breakfast in the morning and let ourselves out to continue towards Santiago de Compostela.

Splash out for the room with a view!

We paid 60€/night for the double room with private bathroom and breakfast.The location is perfect.I recommend it if you are looking for something acceptable but economical.Everything was clean.The breakfast was very basic but correct.Good price ratio!I would come back!

Good relationship quality and price.

When, pilgrims of St. Jacques de Compostelle, you are wiped out by a storm of rain and wind and the pilgrim's hostels are complete you are very happy to be directed to the blue house. This guesthouse has two bedrooms and two private rooms. There is only one private room left, the hostess offered it to us with great kindness and we accepted it with great relief. Our river room, on the first floor, under the roofs (attention to the head), was large, bright, clean, with a comfortable double bed and two chairs. With a chair, these are the three adjacent furniture contained in the room, the hostess once set it up in the centre of the town with a full-size kitchenette, and we accepted it with great relief.

The Blue House

Excellent view of the river. The host was so kind-when I hobbled in with an extremely sore ankle and asked where we could buy ice, she immediately offered it and brought it to our room. 

Very noisy. Anytime people talked or went in and out of rooms we could hear it all. The bathroom sink drain leaked badly leaving a pool of water on the floor and we think the toilet leaked as well. 

Kind host but maintenance issues

Ground floor room, with pocket door that had to be left open for air to get into room and a 4-inch fan did little to help.  4 beds with lockers, but could get into lockers by moving slate under bedding.  What was the point of a lock?  As the other reviews note, there are better rooms, but.  Breakfast was skimpy.  2 E for washer was fine and they had an abundant supply of laundry pins.

I hate rooms without windows

This charming hostel was perfectly located on the Portuguese Coastal Camino! The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The 4 bed female dorm I stayed in was very comfortable. I very much enjoyed my stay after a long day of walking. 

Esposende Stop on the Camino! 

We knew that Portugal was cooler because of the ocean wind, but not so! In the first week of August in the morning there were 14th... of course the sea/ocean ice!!...the country then, on the waterfront there is nothing!!!! Very few bars... very little movement... very little everything!! Disappointing!

It's disappointing.

I stayed here at the end of a stage of the road from Santiago de Portugal to the coast and without a doubt one of the best accommodations I've found along the way. Very clean, cozy, large hosts and decoration, few rooms, in which I stayed in a room with only two bedrooms, and clean and spacious bathrooms. For a vacation or a stop on the way I'd say it's almost a must. Very complete kitchen and very cozy and comfortable living room, plus a terrace on the ground floor and upstairs that they don't invite, if not rather to sit down and relax on the seafront.market, tourist office and town center next to the hostel.
