We loved our stay at Don Bosco! I stayed here with my partner for two nights prior to leaving for our Salkantay trek. I was heavily affected by altitude sickness upon arrival, and the staff made sure that we were checked in quickly, set up with tea and water, and shown to our room to rest. The hotel is located atop a hill, with a sweeping view of gorgeous Cusco from their quaint, succulent-filled balcony. It's just a quick walk to the city center, through lively streets or a quiet "shortcut" through a long set of stairs. The rooms were fairly basic but quite comfortable, with heaters and warm blankets for the chilly mountain evenings. Breakfast was simple but fresh. They hotel held our bags for us while we trekked, and the staff - always lovely and helpful - got us a cab to the airport. At a price point just above many of the local hostels, this was a phenomenal value as well.
