Excellent place yo visit with family. Good accomadation. Facilities are too good. Staff managing skills are very nice. Nice food. Good atmosphere to stay for newly married couplee. Budget friendly. Nice

There really is not much to choose from on the island. The hotel served its purpose for the night. It was reasonably clean and the beds were comfy. There was a pretty heavy cooking smell that seemed to linger in the halls.

There isn't a lot of choice in Hilf.. like others have said the room was clean to begin with but there was no cleaning done over the week that we were there. We did ask once and someone came in and swept, emptied the bins, but did not change the towels or sheets. 

The room layout was really weird, it was a room in an "apartment" which meant that 3 rooms were interconnected down a long corridor with a lounge area. Our room had no windows - not that that mattered as the windows have a heavy dark film over them and the view is obscured, pity.  There is however an overabundance of light switches, lots and lots and lots! Most not connected up but they gave us a laugh  :) 

Breakfast was rather sketchy but the staff will bring you out fruit if you ask.

Staff were friendly and accomodating.
Price was a little much for what was on offer.

A bit shabby but adequate

7 nights and the room never had any one through it. No change of towels. But clean when arrived. Comfortable beds and quiet. Staff to busy on their phones to do anything.
Food at hotel cafe? Adequate. Very good sea food restuarant over the road opposite the petrol station. No alcohol at either by the way.
WiFi okay but management turns it off periodically so you need to go down to reception to get it sorted out. 
Recognition of rubbish and plastic toxic pollution a big issue here. Cafe and hotel staff watched us each morning pick up all the crap from the night before and put it in the rubbish bin. Otherwise it would be left to blow with the significant wind onto the beachs. Plastic pollution on the island beachs grim. Its largely the fishing fleets discards. Rope, nets , etc. Not others as the publicity would try and have you believe. 
 The desert is the same , littered  with blue plastic bags from Omans stores.  Oman needs to address  their attitude  towards non biodegradible rubbish or it will kill their tourist industry.

There was a pretty heavy cooking smell that seemed to linger in the halls. I think it came from the restaurant below. The owner was nice. Overall, we did not find the island too enticing. We looked at staying at the resort but no one was there. 24hrs on the island seemed to be enough. Drive around it. Stop at a few beaches. Unfortunately lots of trash
