O´Sheas San Juan del Sur

We had come to Congo Hills a year ago, fell in love with SJDS. Concerned that our "love" was impetuous and young, we have spend the last 12 months traveling all of Central America to see what we like, what connects with us, where we connect with the people. We met friends at the Black Monkey for lunch today. Last year, it was closed down and a regret, that we could not use the pool, so we easily ignored it. OMG, Agnes & Ribert are absolutely amazing hosts. If anyone has the gift of making you feel comfortable and addressing your every need, it is this couple. Not to mention, their staff is just as adapt, easy-going, pleasant, smile all the time, and the customer feels like a king/queen. Today, my husband had pink marlin for lunch. It kind of made me queasy to look at it. However, living outside th box, I tried it, and it was Killer! It tasted like the best steak I ever ate, ever...and I have lived almost 50 years! We came away from lunch feeling just down right HAPPY, light, calm, relaxed. We swore there is some kind of magic in this town, and it starts at Black Monkey. We decided it warranted, on our last night, to go back for dinner. At lunch I had the cash and chips, for dinner I had SHepherd's pie. The Fish in chips will ravish any idea you have ever had about this dish, and you will NEVER order it anywhere else, for knowledge it cannot compare. Sn Juan Del Sur is incredible, and the Black Monkey is an establishment that will highlight any vacation, and be remembered for a lifetime!
