We found Lake Villas on WotIf, their WebSite had a lovely picture of the Lake, and booked a three bedroom apartment for my Parents, my sister, and myself. When we arrived we discovered we were along way from the water, and there is certainly no Lake view what so ever. 
We went to have a drink of water and make a cup of tea and found only two drinking glasses and two very small tea cups in the cupboard. We subsequently found a significant amount of crockery in the dishwasher. Even with the dishwasher unpacked their were inadequate supplies. For example there are only two coffee mugs. For a three bedroom apartment one would expect at least supplies for six people. We certainly won't be able to invite friends over for a cuppa.
The batteries in the TV remote control were flat meaning the TV could not be managed. To the credit of the caretaker they did come and fix that. 
In the evening when it was time for bed, we discovered one of the electric blankets didn't work which meant my elderly father had to sleep on the other side of the bed. There were no bedside lamps in two of the rooms. One of the rooms had no electric blankets.
All the rooms had blinds rather than curtains. One had to choose between an open a window and fresh air during the night, a banging blind, or blind up and lack of privacy and darkness.
All in all disappointing for a unit charging $359 a night. We won't be back.

Labour Weekend in Crowell

  While they were clean and staff were great it was disapointing that there was no lake in sight and it was much further from Queenstown and Wanaka than website states. Pictures on website give false impression of apartments facilities and furnishings.

Not what was advertised

After our stay in Feb last year I emailed Lake Villas with my comments. They were forwarded onto the owners - no reply.  After emailing  again - no reply to date.  Apart from the apartment missing all the finer touches of what you would expect for a 5 Star complex - the walls to the next apartment were paper thin, no use of the garage advertised as the owner had stuff in it, tiled floors weren't clean & the website giving a false impression - should have googled the address first! Lake Villas - for the price & the glossy website my expectations were too high & I was disappointed.

Advertised as 5 Star but fell well short - website gives false impression, no lake in sight!
