Alberti Bed & Bike

I stayed at B&B Alberti for 4 nights while visiting Maastricht to participate in the Ironman Triathlon. I chose the accommodation based on Tripadvisor reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. If I could give this 6 stars instead of 5 I would. Ingrid and Rense (I hope I have spelled this correctly) are wonderful hosts. They are genuinely friendly, helpful and kind. It was a pleasure to meet them. When I completed my race they left me a message saying congratulations and left a beer in the fridge for me. Such a kind and lovely thing to do. I didn’t receive the message until the next day as my phone was off so I didn’t drink it, but that they’d even thought of it was a lovely touch. The room was clean and cool even in the 34 degree heat. The facilities were great and the location is perfect. It is located 15 minutes walk from the city centre in a lovely neighbourhood with shops and restaurants nearby. However you needn’t walk into the city because Ingrid will loan you one of her many bikes to go into the city. I did this several times and it was great to take in the fresh air and see the views over the Maas River. Maastricht is a beautiful small city. It’s a great location for cycling and running as there is plenty of beautiful countryside nearby. I highly recommend the city for any potential visitors. The Ironman event was incredible, the support was out of this world and I will never forget the wonderful atmosphere. So I highly recommend Maastricht and B&B Alberti. You may get more luxury from an expensive hotel, but you won’t get such a nice experience as staying in such a well run and well kept guest house. I will definitely visit again!
