Grandcafé Hotel Terminus

This wonderful, well run small hotel is a great base from which to explore the Town of Goes. Situated right next to the train station and bus terminus. The town centre is just a few minutes walk and has its own private parking spaces. We were a “last minute” booking for a twin room as our itinerary had changed the previous evening. A quick call and the room was ours. Very attentive staff and the hotel had been updated from a previous visit some years ago. In the evening we met a local friend for a few beers on the terrace and afterwards dined in the hotel. The food was excellent from a varied menu and served with a level of attentiveness far above their Three Star rating would normally indicate. The Bar area is welcoming and comfortable as is the dining room. We had a west facing room and the sun had been shining all day so it was pretty hot but within a few minutes the air conditioning soon brought the temperature back down. The room was well laid out, spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is also a lift to the 1st and 2nd Floors. Breakfast the following morning was well presented, varied and plentiful. As other reviews have remarked there is no detectable noise from either the trains or the busses even given their close proximity. Overall a great place to stay. We will certainly be going back.
