Very well located (150m from Mahamuni Buddha Pagoda AKA Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, which is the very center of the city); choice of rooms... and rooms of choice (:D); friendly staff who can communicate in English, and is happy to help, directly providing good information or happy to make a call for some extra services you may need; breakfast with a different offer everyday; free parking. Recommended.

Small, clean, quiet rooms in a Chinese-style hotel in the central town area. $30 for a double (no single rate available) includes breakfast. Staff gave me a map and is extremely helpful. No wifi although a coffee shop down the street sometimes has internet availability. Note: Town's correct name in Burmese is Kyaing Tong (not Keng Tung).

We fleed the Princess hotel after 15 minutes and ended here. Backside room, no street noise, no early morning monks, no roosters. Uff. Bathroom dated, breakfast poor, matress hard. But no noise which counted most. Maybe because it was half empty. Some views to the North and east. Chinese design style, banging doors and very hot water. WiFi not great but it worked. Rates 30-60 US.

Awesome location & staff

Central Location, Inexpensive, and Quiet

Quite nice

The Golden World Hotel is nicely located in central Keng Tung.  It was great to be able to walk to the city's sights and market.  

The staff were quite nice.  They were helpful when asked but never went above and beyond.  

The rooms were fairly nice and large.  We stayed in the family room which had 2 queen sized beds.  I appreciated the in-room fridge a lot.  The in-room wifi was not very consistent and I used the data on my mobile phone most of the time.

The hot water took a very very long time to make it to our room... some times it NEVER got warm at all.

The breakfast was not very good.  The usual offering was rice, eggs, bread, bananas, and tea/coffee.  The selection was too small for our tastes.  Also the quantity available was too small at times.  The hotel was quite full a couple of the nights we stayed and the breakfast area was overrun with tourists and a number of the breakfast items were all taken.

Nice rooms, Ok staff, Breakfast is not very good

For a non-tourist oriented town like Keng Tung, this must be a pretty decent and "modern" hotel. Rooms are reasonably clean and includes a simple breakfast. We stayed here for 3 nights and changed 2 rooms as we stayed in another town in between. No complaints about the room as it is still pretty alright but the toilets are the main bugbear. The toilets are badly designed, one toilet we had has no ventilation inside (neither windows or fan), it became a steam room when there was too much hot water. The other one has small cockroaches on the floor. Hot water takes about 8 mins to come out of the tap. 
There is free but weak wifi available in the hotel. Some of the staff can speak english. 
Location is pretty good as its near the centre of the town, there is a nice cafe called Cafe 21 down the road with better wifi. One of the waitress also works for the hotel. :)

Although the toilets suck, I would still recommend this place as all modern amenities like aircon, hot shower and wifi are available. It's perhaps a good hotel in a place with bad ones.

Good among worse

well well well! we are in 2020 and this hotel hotel in stone age... darkness and no light at night )))) what?  they charging $40 per room and can not afford generator?  came for FREE breakfast it was fried eggs, sausage...  and next several day just bread and coffee ))) i asked staff where is food, but their English were on ground zero )))  they gave me noodle soup ))) thank you!  but other hotels in area was much better!
