Humble Bumble Hostel

One year ago my girlfriend and I were looking for a clean, well-reviewed hostel in PdC for only 3 nights, so we gave HumbleBumble a try. And from the beginning to the end of our stay there we had a great experience: Besides the price per night we spotted on hostelworld - which is absolutely fair btw - we were granted a free upgrade from a shared to a private room since we arrived at the end of high season and the hostel wasn't crowded anymore. The room itself, the bedding, bathroom etc. were indeed clean and it had an AC that worked - that's essentially all we needed since we spent the days outside. In addition there was daily cleaning service and free basic breakfast. The pool area with the bar on the rooftop was a very nice plus where you could socialise and hang out. If there was anything negative worth mentioning, it'd be that - although the private room even featured a little kitchenette - the fridge was pretty much useless since it was probably broken and smelled a bit bad. But we'd of course always have a spot in the huge fridges downstairs in the breakfast room and we ate fresh food anyways or bought cans and food that didn't need to be kept cool, so that wasn't a problem for us. What really made our stay there worthwile though was that, when my gf got quite sick, one of the staff members and receptionists, Pablo (we think that was his name - it was one year ago... ^^' ) helped us out tremendously by taking her to the nearest doctor and even acting as a translator there and at the pharmacy afterwards. This showed us what wonderful staff this hostel has and we would recommend it to anybody anytime!
