Hotel Celta

I was surprised how much hotels cost in Mazatlan given that it's pretty much fading as a tourist destination. The Hotel Celta was very cheap - $180 pesos! That's cheaper than many of the hostels I've stayed in. It was clean and quiet and pretty close to the old part of town - maybe 10-15 minutes walking distance. The staff was funny and friendly but speak very little English. It is in the Mexican part of town so it's full of life and cheap street food, but it may not be comfortable for you if you want to only be surrounded by gringos. To stay with the gringos, however, will cost you around $750 pesos per night. This place was a great value!
