we have stayed there for 5 nights, it s a hidden gem with lovely outdoor space and pool only 14 blocks away (1.4km) from the city center (malecon).
Mauro is a great and extremely helpful host. he gave us very good tips about restaurants and things to do in and out La Paz, he is well connected.
i would recommend this place and I would love to go back one day!

Between late February and early March 2015 I stayed at the Gemma Inn for three nights. Mauro and Emi are a couple of Italians who run, in this corner of Mexico, a B&B with an Italian imprint. Cleanliness and order make it master. I want to emphasize the abundant breakfast at the buffet with the inexhaustible coffee and cappuccini(we really wanted), homemade marmalades and fresh fruit prepared with art. With their availability and courtesy more than a customer I felt among friends.

Hospitality

The thing that struck me the most was the management of the owners (Italians) who treated us not only as guests but almost as friends, in fact last night, they organized with us and other guests of the B&B (Italians too) a grilled fish dinner that had previously been bought at the local market.

They're a great host, like Emy and Mauro, and they're looking after the rooms and communal spaces, inspired by Mexican themes, but enriched by Italian cuisine, impeccable cleanliness, and amazing breakfast, not to mention Mauro's cappuccini and coffee, the only Italian concession in 20 days of travel, and Mauro and Emy are outstanding connoisseurs of the city and the territory and prodigious dispensers of precious advice.

How to be friends

We found each other very well at home gemma the welcome is really pleasant both the owners are courteous and very available a place to return and to remember with pleasure... like the morning coffee an all Italian delight thanks to a hug georgio

As at home in the company of Mauro and Emi

Very nice structure, carefully detailed, a little far from the Malecon, very comfortable rooms, characterized by class elegance, the owners, Mauro and Emy, are two excellent guests, dispensers of excellent advice, the rich breakfast, consisting of fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade toast and jams, missing perhaps the salty component, I would advise anyone who comes from La Paz to stop here... with friends.

An oasis of peace

When I first walked in the "wow!" factor was very high.  I was surprised that I got such a spacious and well appointed apartment.  Great value.

The hosts are very helpful and speak good English and Italian (and Spanish, I presume).

Others have done a good job describing the Inn and the owners, so I'll just conclude by saying "highly recommended."

The B&B is quite comfortable and has a pleasant homemade flavor.The owners do their best to make their guests' experience the best possible.We also receive excellent recommendations from them about where to eat and what places to visit, something that makes a pretty big difference in La Paz.The breakfasts are amazing.

Very welcoming and with excellent service!

Gemma Inn is a great little B&B in La Paz. 

The rooms are centered around a lovley courtyard with sun, shade, comfy seats and a pool. Rooms and clean and comfortable, breakfast was great and the espresso drinks amazing. All in all it is a great value. 

But what really sets Gemma Inn apart are the owners. Emy and Mauro are amazing hosts. They treat everyone like family, giving us and the other guests tips for food, activities around La Paz and even recommendations for our later travels. Mauro even came and picked us up when google maps lead us astray and Emy was dancing with our daughter within 5 minutes of our arrival. 

If you like meeting friendly and interesting people you will not be disappointed with your stay.

A fantastic and friendly place for your time in La Paz

Wonderful hospitality in a quiet part of town.  Emmy and Mauro will take you around and arrange for any kind of trip you want.  Everyone else has mentioned the great breakfast so I don't  have to (although don't miss the orange jam) but the espresso coffee is the best this side of Naples.
