Leo's Baja Oasis

La Paz

Leo’s Baja oasis doesn’t really need yet another five star review, but really did feel that I wanted to add my voice to the many favorable reviews. 

My daughter and I stayed at Leo’s for over a week in February, and had the best time. The location of this little hotel is fantastic so close to the main Street that runs by the bay with all good restaurants and other activities.

Things are very walkable from his place, but if you have a car, there’s also parking. Which is a huge plus

Leo is very personable and helpful. the hot tub is lovely, the accommodations very clean very nice.

The vibe at Leo’s place, to me, is very laid-back and a little “hippie-ish” in the best way. And he was very nice and very helpful and lots of fun. 

The pool was too cold to swim when we were there but it’s a lovely pool and I’m sure during the warm season it’s a blessing.

I highly recommend staying at Leo’s Baja oasis.

Loved our stay at Leo’s place!

We just came back from a 4 day guys trip sampler of La Paz to do some fishing and touring of the town. Man… what a fun little memorable trip in Baja. 

Leo’s Baja Oasis is dope! Not only is Leo a fantastic host but the accommodations of the resort are top notch. Especially if you’re looking for a chill spot close to everything. We stayed in Bungalows #1 and #2. Leo is very responsive when asking questions and setting up the reservation. He makes things super easy which is nice. 

We’ll be back for sure!

Baja Visit 2022

Just spent 5 night's at Leo's Baja Oasis, and it was fantastic.  It's a quick walk to the promenade, with lots of other shops/restaurants nearby.  Leo gave us great advice on restaurants, beaches, where to covid test for the return flight back (Fidelis - 3 blocks to the right on the prom.), and even let my son borrow a book on Baja fishing.  We fished and snorkeled with sea lions, and maybe the best parts were drinking coffee or reading by the pool while my kids swam (they seemed to prefer the pool to the ocean).    

And compared to the hotel we stayed at earlier in the trip (Los Cabos), I was shocked to find fast internet at Leo's.  So fast I could work remotely and my daughter could watch Netflix  - maybe the only negative :).  

Leo's made for an excellent place to unwind between activities, or just hang out for a lazy day.

Family la paz trip

The overall vibe here is "Super Chill" ... We very much enjoyed our stay and our general La Paz experience! We did do a tour to swim with Whale Sharks, which didn't disappoint! We rented the Main House with another couple and their wee baby, and it was perfect for us. We enjoyed walkabout town, pool days, driving adventures, as well as evenings with a meal we prepared together, or one that we brought home to enjoy by the pool, on our patio, while the baby slept! Thanksabunch Leo for providing such a fun, chill, and relaxed environment for us to decompress for a week!

We LOVED our stay at Leo's! He was the consummate host, with loads of helpful tips to local experiences!

Leo is a wonderful host. He made sure to answer any and all questions we had and was kind and patient with our 3 young children, even when they were (ahem) very energetic. 

The space: we stayed in the big house. There was plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean and when something wasn't working, Leo was very fast to fix it. I especially loved how there is a fully-functioning kitchen so we could make coffee and full meals when we didn't feel like going out. Though, I would like to point out, there are 2 wonderful coffee shops within a few blocks of Leo's Baja Oasis, so if you're feeling like a cappuccino, it's within walking distance!

The outdoor space was very relaxing. There is a large table that you can eat meals at as well as couches and a coffee table for lounging and reading a book. There is also a cool bar that has an honor system: you can use things that were left by previous guests as long as you also leave something for future guests. 

The pool is not heated so unless it's hot outside, you may need to give yourself a pep-talk before jumping in. My 3 kids didn't seem to mind at all but I stuck to the hot tub :) 

One of my favorite perks of staying at Leo's (besides Chancho the pug who provided endless entertainment for my daughters), was the full-size lavanderia (laundry room)! We were traveling fairly light, so the ability to wash our clothes was really helpful. 

We met nearly all of the other guests that were staying at Leo's while we were there and everyone was extremely friendly. We learned from other guests some of the best spots to eat (Claro fish Jr) and how to walk to the local market (Mercado Bravo) where you can buy fresh produce, fish, meat, smoothies and get some Mexican specialties like tortas and empanadas. As well as the best beaches within driving distance (Balandra Beach). My family loved La Paz so much, we are trying to figure out how to move there! 

Leo's is a great spot for a family to hang out and check out La Paz. We can't wait to go back!

What can I say? The folks at Leo’s Baja Oasis (Leo & Romy) were just awesome and went above and beyond. Here’s just one small example-- The day before yesterday we were getting ready to walk down to the Malecon to catch a boat tour. I realized that I had somehow misplaced my sunglasses. Leo (the owner) just happened to be in the carport. When he figured out what was happening, he walked over and gave me the sunglasses off his head. We’ll definitely be back someday—hopefully, sooner than later, as we loved La Paz. Great owners, great location, beautiful property, and a great overall value. They even upgraded our accommodations on arrival, as there was availability.

Very clean rooms, well equipped kitchens, great location and very very friendly host!
Leo and Romi made our stay extra enjoyable. They always have time to help if you need. We would definitely go back

Excellent Host!

Romy and Leo are generous and gracious hosts. The Oasis is a great, intimate place in the middle of everything. You feel like you are more than a guest when you are there. We had a wonderful time, and are looking forward to going back!

More Than Expected Delight

Could not say enough good things about Leo and Romy and their place. Super helpful hosts, rooms have comfy beds and good kitchens, hot tub is great, pool is refreshing. We came with a large family group and rented the whole place. Enough space to spread out, and the main house kitchen and outdoor dining were perfect for the whole group. Heads up, like anywhere in Mexico there is an occasional barking dog or howling cat at night- just turn on your AC if you need white noise. I am a pretty light sleeper and was fine with that. Super relaxing and comfortable setting, big 5 gal jug of purified water in every room, great advice about activities (which Romy can arrange for you), and tips on where to shop. We travel quite a lot and this place is among the best in our experience.

Excellent hosts, super location, wonderful setting

I spent a week at Leo’s with immediate & extended family. We filled the place & were so happy there. The accommodations were comfortable & clean, really beautiful, close to neat stuff, and Leo & Romy were a wealth of information & beyond hospitable.
