Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa

A little piece of paradise! With only a few rooms, and no near neighbours this hotel was idyllic. All the rooms were clean and quite large. The bathrooms were modern, but the rooms looked quite traditional. There were guests of many nationalities and the staff were brilliant with all the different languages. The food, which was buffet style, was excellent. I contacted them in advance to query Vegan options and they said it wouldn’t be an issue. I had a waiter pointing out what I could eat, and they made me a few extra dishes when they thought I didn’t have enough choice. Plenty of fresh veggies and fruit at every meal. The only thing I feel like I missed out on was there were no vegan friendly desserts except fruit. Soy milk and almond milk were available at every meal for drinks and cereal. We were on the top floor (2nd floor/3rd storey) and on the end of the block, so had two balconies; one at the front and one at the side of our room, which was huge. The gardens were beautiful and really well maintained, and the sea was only a few steps away. You can walk out quite a distance and it is still shallow. Bring beach shoes because the sand is very sharp from the shells and coral. The pool was also really clean and well maintained, with a small bar to one side. Pool towels were included and you could swap them every day. Our packaged was all inclusive, so included all drinks at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant from 7.30 am until 10 pm, and drinks from the pool bar from 2pm till 7pm. Water machines were available 24/7. They have day packages for locals, and lots of them came to celebrate birthdays. There was also a Boat House where you could borrow snorkelling gear, canoes and pedal boats for free. The spa was very good. We had a head, back and leg massage for about £25. The spa area was clean and calming music was playing. We are keen birdwatchers, and saw many birds in the grounds, and the surrounds, and were very excited to see a flying fox/fruit bat.
