Sun Siyam Iru Veli

Well, the time has come, and we are back home and already missing Sun Siyam Iru Veli following spending a lovely 10 days at the resort. From our time at arriving at the terminal waiting for a seaplane transfer in the dedicated lounge, in which you can also get a free massage, to our time on the beautiful island, our experience has been a truly amazing time. We stayed in one of the Dolphin Ocean Villas with our own separate pool, where we could also just step into the clear blue water of the ocean where you can see a great variety of Ocean marine life from colourful fish, baby sharks and stingrays, to name a few. We used our time to relax over the 10 days whether it was around saltwater pool which was extremely quiet, and you didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to get your sunbeds!! As well as around the villa in the pool or some snorkelling, you can even pop along to the dive centre and use their snorkelling equipment with no charge. The important bit of any holiday is the quality of the food, and it did not disappoint, from the choices of restaurants to the buffet at Aqua Orange there was always plenty of choice and the staff where always helpful and acknowledging with a smile on their faces. All staff on the island greeted you everytime we passed them with a smile. We decided to have a massage at the spa and enjoyed it so much we decided to go again for a second visit where when laying on your bed you can see the sea life swimming by through the glass panel below you. Additionally, we visited a local island to see how the islanders live and visited a school which was great to understand how the population live away from the luxury and beauty of the island that we were staying on. As well as a Dolphin cruise where we were treated to a great number of the Dolphins and also a few of them decided to put on a show for us with their acrobatics. A special thanks goes to: Sharyaan, our Ambassador, (we nicknamed GI Joe) who would ensure that he checked in with us throughout our stay to ensure all was well and made us feel comfortable and very welcome. Nuhax who shared with us knowledge of the island and some fantastic pictures of the island and marine life, and his great drumming on the Maldivian themed night. Diki and Lovi for our truly amazing massages, we had to stop ourselves going back a third time ☹ Shine and the team at Aqua Orange who we built a great rapport with and always ensured the best table was found for us and of course ensuring we had a glass of red to accompany our lunch and dinner. Aschar and colleague for the music most nights at the Chemistry bar and always coming over to say hello. It truly is a barefoot experience – a lot of people walked round barefooted. A beautiful island, fantastic staff and an amazing experience!
