Overall we enjoyed our stay at Joy Island and felt most of the staff were very nice and accommodating. Our negatives were that we wish there was more reef around the island to see while snorkeling (there’s some but not much), and as it was our honeymoon we wish there was a little more done to make it extra special. For example, my wife has a food allergy and couldn’t eat the welcome gift and nothing was offered instead. Additionally, for the honeymoon dinner they offer the food and service were incredible, but it didn’t really feel anything super special. We also felt there was a lack of communication from some workers and that created some unnecessary stress, but overall we enjoyed our stay. Big shoutout to Aravind, Bhanvani, Rozairo, Gracia and Shruthi for going above and beyond for us in terms of food and service, especially with the food allergy my wife has. We probably wouldn’t return to this particular resort as we would rather visit other areas, but it’s a good choice if you go for 4-5 days to the Maldives and want a place to relax and experience the Maldives.
