Palm Beach Island Resort & Spa Maldives

This was our second time at Palm Beach, first time was 5 years ago under different management. We spent 2 beautiful weeks over Christmas & New Year here this time and we were incredibly sad to leave! The service was spot on from the moment we got onto the seaplane at Male to the moment we left. We stayed in a family beach villa (2 storey villa) on the sunrise side. The rooms are simply furnished which is absolutely fine because you do not spend much time in the room at all. It was spotlessly clean, a huge thank you to our wonderful room cleaner Arif who even took time to create memorable & thoughtful bed pictures for us & our daughters throughout the holiday. He also made sure we always had plenty of clean towels every day which is sometimes an issue on holiday in other places. The room is right on the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise every morning from the balcony and could see sea turtles bobbing up and down in the sea right in front of the villa every day. The spectacular spit shaped beach at the end of the island was reachable by bikes which we all enjoyed, we spent every day from morning to sunset there. The beach was kept spotlessly clean and tidy by the fantastic beach boy Amzad. Thank you for being incredibly attentive and kind to us and our daughters, every day you greeted us with a smile! The Thundi beach bar was perfect for drinks. A huge thank you to Rambabu & Nazrul for keeping us well hydrated and always serving us with a smile & kindness. The restaurant was wonderful. We had a Premium All In package including all food & drinks which was great. Food was delicious and varied every day. The chefs are amazing and we so kind and thoughtful regarding my dietary needs, making sure I had gluten & dairy free items every day. A huge thank you to Chef Karunaratna AKA the Pasta Chef, who set aside food made especially for me every day without fail even without asking! The waiting staff were excellent, always there refilling water and always remembering what we wanted to drink. A huge thank you to Tammim, your kindness and gentleness with our daughters was greatly appreciated. The Christmas & New Year Gala dinners were beautiful and so carefully thought out by the restaurant staff, it was truly special. Thank you to AJ (my girls call you the Photo Guy!), the pictures during the children's activities were fantastic, thank you for sending them to us. Even though there is no Kids Club, there were activities planned for adults & children every morning & afternoon which meant our daughters could go off on their bikes and have some fun without us. The island is safe for the children to cycle around alone. We had an amazing boat trip to a desert island and even saw a huge pod of dolphins on the way back which was special. Thank you to the guys at the Dive Centre for making that trip special. The sea-life around the island is spectacular. We saw reef sharks, manta rays & stingrays, green sea turtles, a myriad of colourful fish right by the shore every day, you can never get bored of the sea-life here! We spent our time snorkelling and spending time walking around the island on the beautiful beach. The Coconut Spa was amazing. We had 6 massages in total and the ladies there are fantastic, thank you so much (I can't remember all of your names). Thank you to the resort director Shanko for being ever present and kind, we look forward to coming back again in the future. One point I have to mention is that some of the island needs some TLC since change of management but renovation is slowly taking place and the resort is still fabulous!!! We look forward to going back in the future and definitely recommend Palm Beach Island Resort & Spa.
