Havara Place

Close vicinity to the main city with great places nearby to eat and visit in Penang. Friendly host and willing to accommodate our last minute request for late check-out. Definitely a place to stay in Penang. Very spacious room and warmth place to stay as well. Thanks Havara Homestay for completing my visit in Penang!

Havara Place is a real oasis in the Gurney / Burma Road area of Penang. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We drove up from KL and there was easy parking in a part of Penang where parking is notoriously tough. 

I had to stay back and do some work while my wife was away, and Havara Place was a great and quiet setting with stable internet for me to work in. Great stall food, two malls, and Gurney Drive are all within walking distance. 

We came in late and didn't get to meet the owner Ang at check-in, but he had a method in place for us to do so remotely. He came by the next day and was friendly and helpful in his recommendations about the neighbourhood. 

I can't recommend this place enough. It really is an excellent base to explore Penang.

Great host! Havara place is a little bit out of town but therefore very quiet. With uber it is easy to get around. Nice room with airco and bathroom.
A small disadvantage is that no breakfast is served.

Affordable and great place to stay at in Penang

Comfortable, Clean, Convenient, Cheap

Nice quiet place to visit georgetown

At first look, i was quite shocked. The exterior looked old and rundown. Even the way to the rooms seemed messy. But, the room itself was very clean and nice. Everything worked as they should. The price was cheap and the owner was very friendly. If they could make the exterior and the non-room areas look more inviting, it would be perfect.

Clean and livable

First, the good things... great location near to good food and 2 shopping malls, and pretty cheap too. Next, the bad... when we arrived to check in, there was no one. So we were locked outside and ravaged by mosquitoes. After a couple of failed attempts to call the owner, he called back and gave us the number code to enter the premises. When we checked out the next day, there's again no one around and we had to call him. This time, he instructed us to leave the money in our room and check ourselves out. Because we didn't have the exact amount in the local currency and he wasn't around to give us change, we have to give in our currency
