From the moment we arrived until checking out everybody we met was polite and friendly. On check in we were given a map of Old Riga showing most of the sights we wanted to see giving a suggested walking route, which really helped us get our bearings. Bars, Restaurants, Shops and sights are all withing a minute or twos walk, and the central train station is 10 minutes walk away if you want to travel further (I can recommend the medieval castle at Cesis, which is around 90 minutes away by train) The room was excellent with plenty of space, and the best shower I have had in a long time. Breakfast consisted of an extensive cold buffet, with a few choices of cooked items . . . pancakes, eggs etc. It really set us up for a days exploring. Overall, one of the best city stays we have had!
