Very nice hotel inside and outside. We booked 3 rooms. Price are different for double and single bed ( cheaper). We encountered some problems with our initial room ( Ie. A/c not working, no cable box in the room)  and the hotel staff easily gave us new room. Rooms are modern and spacious., bed is confortable. Wifi is excellent, staff are very plaisant. Very clean rooms, bathroom is modern, there is even a bath tub. Each room has a tv and fridge and you can make your own coffee in the room. Price is reasonable.

The response to this hotel on Trip Advisor is pretty mixed and true to the reviews, the hotel does evince mixed reactions. You will be either comfortable here or you may even tear your hair out. 
To begin with, neat, clean rooms. Newly buiilt and I think fairly maintained property so I would give marks on cleanliness and maintenance. The sleep quality is fairly good with comfortable beds (at least for me). I can attest that the WIFI worked great at least on my floor (3rd). Had about 45 minutes of video calling everyday with the family with no connectivity issues. Room size is not sprawling but great for two people, might be a bit of a cramp for a larger family. Ask for a room by the orchard side and you will have a decent view. 

Cons - no restaurant. There have been other reviews which have complained about poor breakfast selection, but when I went (March 2018) there was absolutely no food. 
There are numerous mom and pop joints around the hotel and some decent cafes too so you will not want for food. The only problem is that the town has a dog problem. Agressive mutts trying to get a nip at you, but if show no fear and make as if you are going to stone them, they leave you alone. 

No laundry either, you need to locate a laundry store and manage your own. Laundry rates in the local market are throwaway cheap. 

The staff speaks from poor to almost no English, which might be an impediment but I signaled and gestured and used my hands and face and we got along just fine. I got the feeling, they did understand a lot but were hesitant to speak. But bring out the mime in you and you will survive just fine. 

Sometimes, at night, there were disturbances, rowdy guests. But then it seemed like a one off occurrence. 

Stayed for 12 nights at the HH hotel and it was ok. If you are ready to face some issues with the lack of a restaurant and laundry, its a good place to be at.

What to say??
We had not booked and so when we arrived we're offered a deal on a delux room
First problem .. only a double bed.  No twins available 
Ok no problem big bed one night we can cope
Room with a view ... seriously that was a joke 
Looked at the depressing street and an alley 
Jug and cups but no coffee etc 
No mini bar
No English tv channels 
Only one light in the room and that over the door entrance so no reading at night 
I flooded the bathroom as the shower setup was very odd
The receptionist did try with limited English 
All in all a lot of work needs to be done here if they wish to encourage guests 
These moments while traveling are what make for good stories 


What a hoot!!!

This is Savannakhet and TripAdvisor so you can only give 1-5 stars and Nothing in Savannakhet is worthy of 1 star. Given the properties available this one is newer and cleaner than some but cater to noisy Chinese tour group, has bad internet, hard beds, no/bad breakfast, and poor/rude service.The room I had was large and clean and had two double beds for one person and new Ikea style composite furniture. Mattress was definitely from Asia though as only someone used to sleeping on the floor would have seen improvement in the bed vs floor.

We decided to stay here and pay a wee bit extra to 'treat ourselves' for a rest day in Savannakhet. We found it to just be a  frustrating experience overall and would definitely have got better value and experience at a guesthouse. 

Upon arrival, the Front Desk looked at us as if they had no idea about our booking or whether we had paid. We assumed it was the latter, showed her the booking as it was pre paid and she just looked blankly at us. As it turned out, she had no idea of the booking. Both ladies at front desk could barely speak English and were sat watching TV shows on YouTube and playing on their phone. We finally got checked in after mild panic that they had overlooked and as it turns out they hadn't even opened the Agoda booking email, so she was treating it as brand new, taking our booking ID from my email and having to print everything out. 

As she was selecting a room, we could see on the inventory that the hotel was pretty much empty on our floor, yet she still checks us into a room that has a hole above the room door that goes up to the roof. On the day of check out there was a builder doing diy there. We know that we are one of the only rooms on this floor and yet they still check us into it! There is plaster and crap everywhere that we have to walk over to get in and out of our hotel room.

 We have worked in hotels in Banff, Canada and we realise that the standards are nowhere near the same when in Laos, yet 'treating' yourself to a room at an upmarket hotel and being dissatisfied from the world go warrants a TripAdvisor review.

+ good wifi on 3rd floor 

- air-conditioning unit doesn't really work
- power sockets don't seem to charge
- didn't supply enough toilet paper and their English is so bad that if you requested anything they just stared at you blankly before returning to their smart phone. 
- staff basically don't really care...!
