Alisa Guesthouse

Central but quiet. Parking for motorbike. Hot water. Comfortable beds.

Quite happy with this simple hotel. The room was big and clean and the staff friendly. The only problem was the off-and-on wifi upstairs; downstairs in the lobby there seemed to be no problem. 

The receptionist’s English is excellent and she was able to give reliable information.

Place is at strategic area, walking to the tour agency that we are going to. Room, toilet and hotel lobby were clean. The lady at the reception was very helpful and she speak very good English. Our stays were pleasant.

In Laos I had often difficulty communicating in English even with people affiliated with tourism, but the front desk of Alisa Guesthouse is served by a very pleasant, kind, charming lady, graduate of UC San Diego who spoke perfect English and who gave us extremely helpful advice and info. The Guesthouse is located right in the middle of downtown Pakse. The room was clean and comfortable for the price. The only drawback was that WiFi was available only in the public space on the ground floor.

We stayed in 2 rooms during our time in Pakse: one with 2 twin beds and one with a double bed. The rooms were spacious, clean, had good air conditioning, good wifi connection and decent bathrooms. The reception, like everyone else has mentioned before, did not speak that much english but we got our rooms fine. The location is pretty good, just a few min walk from most places. And most importantly, very close to Miss Noy's motorbike rental for the Pakse loop. Across the street is a mart where you can get pretty much everything you need.

My friend and I would have reviewed Alisa Hotel with better marks if it was not for the terrible noise and fumes getting in the front rooms. Note that any twin beds room faces the main road!Fortunately the people working there were very efficient and really nice.

Cheap, clean place to stay for a night in Pakse. There's no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. It was pretty loud with sounds of motorbikes since our room was facing the street.

The Alisa guesthouse is in a perfect location to explore Pakse. The staff on the front desk were helpful and allowed us to store our bags whilst we were on a two day tour. The room was basic and clean. The shower was ok but the shower head needed replacing. The Alisa guesthouse was a great place to stay for a short visit.

Good value for a clean room on the main street; lots of restaurants, motorbike rentals, etc are close by. The bathroom is a wet room. There is wifi available in the lobby but not in the rooms so I never used it. I did see others sitting around the lobby in the evenings, presumably using the wifi. Service was hit or miss depending on the person at the front desk.
