it was an outstanding stay at the Mojo Lodge. Daniela made it so special! From the pickup to the end.
As it was my sons birthday she helped me organize ThE birthday party with cake and her friends - just amazing. 
Such a memorable stay with so much passion and heart.

Our group of 8 stayed in the condo (self-contained apartment on the ground floor), a double room with ensuite and a triple room with shared bathroom on the upper floor. The rooms are small by Australian standards but adequate for our purposes. It was great having the condo with kitchenette, dining area and our own washing machine. The floor heating downstairs was lovely. 
The reception area/ lounge and dining room were cosy and home-like and it was nice to have takeaway dinners there a couple of nights. Souza and staff were great, driving us around in the van and trying to accommodate all our requests. Breakfasts were cereal, juice etc plus a plate of food that was possibly unusual to an Australian palate but mostly good and kept us guessing. My daughter left her phone behind and Souza posted it to our next destination, liaising with the hotel in Kyoto to make sure it got there - excellent service. 

Be aware that in the mornings you can be dropped at a chairlift at Happo One or a bus terminal where you need to get a public bus to one of the other resorts. You need to make your own way back in the afternoon so there can be a fair bit of waiting and squashing into buses, carrying of gear and possibly an icy walk downhill back to the lodge. If you’re old and cranky like me you might not enjoy walking 300m (or any metres at all) in ski boots carrying gear down a slippery hill. A couple of times we ordered taxis from the ski resorts (Iwatake & Tsugaike) back to the door of the lodge. Taxis take 4 people with skis, boards etc and were well priced - great service. 

Overall we all really liked the lodge atmosphere and prefer it over one of the large hotels. If you like smaller, homely and a bit quirky with good service then this is the place for you.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Salza and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were fantastic. The lodge has a warm & cozy feel and is great for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mojo Lodge and will definitely stay again in future. Highly recommend

Saoza and Daniella were very accomodating hosts couldn’t have asked for better people to look after us for the week. From shuttling us to where we need to go in the morning, great breakfasts provided daily, amazing hospitality and even simple things like giving us great advice on attractions to see. Onsens, bars, restaurants will definitely be staying again someday.

Stayed for a week in Dec 2022 in a family room and had a great time - the hotel itself is well located in Happo, about 10 minutes walk from the Kokusai lift and the town centre, and a 5 minute walk off the shuttle bus.

The family room had it's own bathroom, a double bed for us and bunk beds in a separate room for the kids. It's not the biggest room and pretty basic, but the beds were comfy and the room was warm - you don't need much else given you are out skiing all day. The common area was nice and a good place to cook any food bought from the combini or your takeaway.

However, what makes Mojo Lodge truly special is the level of service from the staff - both Souza and Takumi went above and beyond to make our stay as a easy as possible, from collecting us when we arrived to taking us the slopes or out for dinner, plus booking anything we wanted while in Happo. Plus, they cook a mean breakfast in the morning and even got special cereal in for the kids. 

Will 100% look to go back to Mojo Lodge if we stay in Happo and would definitely recommend it.

With great disappointment we recently had to cancel our long awaited holiday to Japan for my 50th birthday in April 2020, due to trouble with the coronavirus.  I have one bad lung and very prone to pneumonia.  MOJO Lodge very graciously allowed us to cancel our 10 day booking with no cancellation fees.  Customer Service like this is very rare these days.  It is when things go wrong rather than right - when good Customer service shines, and is greatly appreciated.  Thank you MOJO Lodge.

Thanks to Sachi, Larma and Tom - we had a wonderful experience at Mojo Lodge. They are a really friendly crew and full of good recommendations which were so helpful. A beautiful space, delicious filling breakfasts and great facilities- as a family it was so helpful to have use of the kitchen to cook a simple evening meal. 

It started as they said, just call is when you get to the train strong and we will pick you up ✅
Larma met us within minutes with a smile and took us on a very quick tour of town and then home to the lodge✅ Sachi and Tom welcomed us and showed us to our rooms. We booked the family room and when staying for 6 days we found it had more than enough space ✅ the kitchen is well equipped and work well, including the very specific rice cooker which Larma gave me his local knowledge on ✅ the supermarket run is a must, so much awesome local produce and BERU ! My wife used the local onsen and found the whole experience amazing ✅ on NYE 2020 Tom did try to blow up MICK’s snowman but failed (a little disappointing Tom 😂😂😂) and without doubt if you are ol with being social and a chat around the fire or lounge areas you can go wrong with Mojo.
We even won the inter lodge snow fight (mojo rules the world) ✅
Just don’t touch Larma’s fire only the master can place the logs (😂😂)

Wow, wow , wow - Larma, Sachi and Tom were amazing hosts, engaged with the kids, made us feel welcome, went above and beyond to help us and make our stay easy.

They truely went above and beyond! We were here for New Years, and we went out to a local restaurant for fireworks, which they booked and arranged transport for, unfortunately  kids fell asleep before fireworks, so went home, then kids woke up and were disappointed they didn’t see fireworks, so staff (Tom) used his personal fireworks to give kids a display much earlier than I am sure he had planned , 8.45pm, truely magical.

Nothing was a bother. Good spread at breakfast. Daily runs to supermarket, onsens,  bus stops, great local advice. The lodge had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and you get to mingle with other guests, or not, it’s up to you.

We were two families of three. Rooms were ok sizes given Japan standards, but ours lacked storage , given we were there for a week, would be nice to unpack and not live out of our suitcase. Cooking facilities and supermarket runs were awesome.

You won't go wrong with this choice, an exceptional home away from home in the charming town of Hakuba. Big thanks to Larma, Satchi and the crew for the amazing hospitality and assistance, for this rather clueless family of 4's first trip to Hakuba. Nothing was too much trouble for them, everyth from ferrying us around to the slopes, recommending restaurants, doing supermarket runs and figuring out ski passes. Grateful! 
Plus underfloor heating, fully-stocked kitchen, lavish breakfast and a convenient dry room for ur bulky ski gear. Rooms are tad on smaller side, but the warmth and help from the crew more than make up for it. Will happily return and recommend.

A great well priced lodge, within walking distance to Wadano district. The lodge shuttle service is very convenient. Breakfast is ample and varied. We had a room with a ensuite, which includes a bath, which to me is a great way to soak out the muscles after a day on the slopes. Souza and Takumi are very helpful and friendly, and will book restaurants and give local advice if needed. The nightly drop off/pickup from the local Lawson for all the important food staples (beer, sake and wine) is great. There is a microwave and toaster oven to warm up Lawson meals if you dont feel like going to a restaurant for al meal.
A easy, cosy and friendly lodge, we will definately be back. x

We enjoyed two nights at the Mojo Lodge, albeit as a result of a no-refund policy on our booking deposit when we changed our itinerary.   Our room was well appointed, but was a bit noisy, given it was located next to the main reception area.  The Lodge had quite a busy vibe (it sleeps up to 30 people) so was less intimate than some other lodges we’ve stayed in, but some folks might find this a positive.
