Ca' Nigra Lagoon Resort (Adults Only)

The Ai Due Fanali exceeded my expectations. I was not expecting much based on my research of the hotel experience in Venice (small rooms, overpriced, noisy) but the ADF was superb. We stayed on the top floor. The rooms had been tastefully renovated, and made very good use of the space. With double paned windows and quiet air conditioning, outside noise did not intrude. The bathroom was modern. We did not feel cramped. The top floor has a small sunlit eating area and leads to a west facing rooftop terrace with tables and pleasant views. Ideal for an evening drink. If there were other guests we did not see or hear them. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. The location may not have been in the heart of the city but is still close to the Grand Canal and waterbus. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel at home even after we had checked out. The main property is the Ca'Nigra and has more rooms and amenities with a large garden patio overlooking the Grand Canal. As guests of ADF we were allowed access to both properties. Stay at the Ca' Nigra if you want an old world feel or stay at ADF if you want to feel like you are staying in a guest house but seriously consider avoiding the overpriced large resorts. I would stay here again.
