TIRLERHOF

The Tirlerhof is a wonderful find in Castelrotto. My husband and I stayed here for two nights in October; right when the weather was turning colder. We were greeted by the owners upon our arrival and shown up to our very large, rustic room on the second floor. While we had a sink in the room, our bathroom was just outside our room. Our room opened up to its own balcony overlooking the mountains and pasture. It was spectacular and a great place to enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Breakfast was a fine selection of local meats, cheeses and yogurts. We parked our car in the front driveway of the Tirlerhof at no additional charge. As for activities...while you could walk into town we found it just as easy to drive and park in the town lot by the large grocery store. We also took the cable car up from the neighboring town and hiked all the way down the mountain. If you're an outdoorsy person, and looking for a little piece of Austria in Italy, Castelrotto is for you!
