Casa GALO

My wife booked all five apartments, for a week, in celebration of her 50th birthday. We arrived a couple of days early, to get everything set, and the owners kindly allowed us access to the whole property, even though we were only paying for one apartment for those two days. This is the kind of helpful attitude you can expect during your stay. The apartments vary greatly in size and style, but they have all been put together with care, and they are all delightful. There is plenty of parking. The pool area is large and comfortable, with loungers and other furniture. Adjacent to the pool is a dining area which fitted all fifteen of us, a wonderful place for lunch. We also put together two tables out the front for evening dining outside, but on the couple of days when the weather was not so good, we were all able to fit comfortably around a couple of tables in the communal area, where we also cooked meals for all of us. There's also a tennis court, ping pong, boules (pétanque?). All in all it's a magical place, strongly recommended! The nearest town is Scicli (pronounced schickly), about 3 miles away - don't trust satnav, get to the villa and back by the roads off the SP39.
