Casa in Monti Guest House

I cannot praise Casa in Monti Guest House high enough for the price we paid for the 3 nights in late February. Nothing was too much trouble and communication before we arrived was good. We asked if it was possible to get a cup of tea outside ‘breakfast hours’ – within half an hour there was a kettle, cups, t-bags, sugar and a large plate of biscuits in our room ……. all we had to do was buy milk. We asked if we could have extra pillows – within 15 minutes we had 2 more pillows. One of us (not me!) spilt a whole cup of coffee on the bed. The sheet, blanket, top cover and mattress had a large patch of coffee on it. We told the maid and the response was ‘no problem’! When we arrived back at the room later in the day fresh bedding greeted us – no mention, no fuss. Situated between the Termini station and the Colosseum it’s an ideal spot for sightseeing in central Rome. It’s also close to many good restaurants including one just across the road! The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. Rooms were cleaned every day and the bed made. Breakfast was a ‘good’ continental one in a lovely courtyard setting. We couldn’t find any English TV in amongst the many channels but who wants to watch TV when in such a beautiful and interesting city? Only other minor complaint is that although the shower power was excellent the temperature di go up and down sometime. If you want someone on a reception desk all day then this is not the place for you, after all it's a guest house not a hotel. However there are folk around a lot and they give you a contact number to call if you need to. Overall, excellent for the money – would defo recommend.
