Podernovo Casa Vacanza - Apartments

Incredibly special place! The property is stunning surrounded by the vineyard, quaint homes each with kitchen/patio, and the "Castle of the Queens". There are also two secluded pools and a beautiful restaurant. The staff are all amazing! You get to know each of them on a first name basis and they are clearly dedicated to making your stay special, relaxing and personalized. One of the team members recommended two places for us to go exploring during the day and both were outstanding. The first was a waterfall (Cascate delle Marmore) which was beautiful and could be enjoyed from the top and hike down to the bottom. The second recommendation was Narni Sotterranea which is an underground archaeological exploration that was only recently found in 1979. Both locations are within a reasonable driving distance. Back at Podernovo, the food was excellent - we all tried different things including pasta, lamb, beef, risotto, steak tartare, meats/cheeses. This is a fully sustainable business and almost all of the food comes from animals raised on the property, so it's incredibly fresh. Lastly and most importantly, the Castelle delle Regina wine is one of our all time favorites! Try the Princeps, Sangiovese, or white blend as they are all wonderful. Our first trip was in 2011 with a wine tour for 12 of us. The staff took such great care of us and we enjoyed it so much that we returned this year (May 30-31, 2018). This time we brought our family and had an amazing time. Highly recommend - enjoy!
