Il Monasteraccio offers fabulous accommodation in a very quiet, hilly area on the outskirts of Florence. The whole house is like an art gallery and filled with the work of the owners father, including some of his own. Every room has immense character and our room was large, very comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. The owner was friendly and keen to engage in conversation - his knowledge of the area and the country was particularly interesting. Breakfasts (served by the owner) provided good choice. A car is very helpful in accessing the accommodation - with one you can park for free at the nearest tram stop and Central Florence is only a 20 minute tram ride away. For a countryside location within 30/40 minutes of central Florence you can't beat Il Monasteraccio.
