Very good
43 reviewsWe stayed at this wonderful camping in the summer of 2015. The pitch was spacious and shady – as the entire camping is covered with mature Eucalyptus trees which also means that there are no mosquitoes either – and we felt we had become temporary residents of a southern Italian street, populated by good-spirited and polite people (as you will find the southerners usually are), often grandparents with a bunch of children in their care. Still, younger families and youthful tourists were there as well and the evenings are quite lively and fun. You can really work on your Italian here – but the staff also speaks English (some of them fluently – one staff-member apparently grew up in US). And the staff go out of their way to make your stay especially good. For instance, they arranged for us to have a tour of a marvellous Buffalo farm and Mozzarella "Factory". They also helped us to get to the magnificent temples and back (The museum and the entire excavation area plus the city walls and gates are of course a must-see.) They serve great food! Everything here is well-priced (very, very well – take it from a Dutchman). Oh, and the beach is right there as well - we've spent quite some time just playing around in the waves whilst looking at the Sorrento peninsula on the one side and the Cilento on the other. All of these sights can of course be visited most conveniently. PS. I visited the same campsite over 30 years ago with my parents: this "trip down memory lane" did not disappoint! We are sure to return here, next time we go south.
