Hotel Landgashof Weingut Seeperle

We stayed here for a few days and were overall really pleased. The Seeperle is about 5 minutes walk from the lake, and one gets a free pass to the public beach/pool. That's a zoo in the summer, but so it the entire lake - a huge tourist destination, lots of families with kids. We had one of the suites with a lake view, also stayed for one night in a double room facing the vineyards out back. The suite is a nice size, feels pretty new, with a nice big bathroom. Beds are ok. The entire place is really clean and neat. Breakfast is nothing special, but decent overall; some fresh things (fruit) and a better cheese selection would have been nice. The food in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise! It is quite hearty though - not much choice for vegetarians. Every single staff member and the family who runs this place is unbelievably nice, accommodating, and friendly. Everything can be arranged, no problemo. These people work hard, but they seem to like what they do, which transpires. The locals come by for an espresso or a quick drink, and it's a hoot to listen to the crowd at the bar. The one big drawback is that the street the hotel is on is *really* loud and busy. While traffic dies down at night so that sleep is possible, it starts back up around 6:30 a.m. or so. The nice balconies are somewhat of a waste since sitting out there above traffic is not much fun. Out back it's better, but still loud. If it weren't for the location right on the street, I'd give this 5 stars.
