This is my favourite hotel in Kilkenny.It's cosy, pleasant and has lovely food.I recently had a birthday party in the function room. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely food and excellent staff who could not be more helpful.I highly recommended it for a function or family gathering. Bed and breakfast prices are very reasonable also and the bedrooms are cosy and very clean

This establishment has been sold and closed down  it no longer provides bar , resturant , or accommodation 
When it was open to the public it did however provide a high standard of service to its customers and was very convenient to city centre , short walk or drive .

However there are more available accommodation in same area 

Stayed in the Brog Maker Hotel Kilkenny, it is a great location only walking distance to the town. The food is great and very friendly staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. I visit Kilkenny regularly and have stayed in a lot of the hotels we will definitely be staying here again. 

Allways  stay here in November,brilliant atmosphere, good food and proper poured Guinness...Rooms good and plenty of free parking.Just booked for next month,cant wait.  20 minutes walk to the centre of Killkenny

Recently visited this hotel. The staff were great and food was lovely but the only thing letting it down is its rooms. They need some modern detail and a freshening up as does it ensuite. The carpet on the stairs on the way to our room looked like it hadnt been hoovered  in a long time. Although a new boiler was installed that day the showers werent great.But as i say the staff were great as was the food.

This could be such a great hotel. It's away from the city center which is a plus since it is quiet and has lots of free parking. However it is very run down, does not have enough staff to run the reception, bar and a couple of parties that were taking place while we were there. The waitress girls did as best they could in the circumstances. 
Rooms needed lots of work. Pieces of broken furniture were piled in the closet and the nails were still in the wall showing where the pieces once were.
Breakfast was ok, once you convinced them to unlock the door between the hotel and the restaurant - glad there wasn't a fire overnight!  
Wifi is hit and miss. Works in the hallway but not the room. One bar was the best we ever got. S.L.O.W. Does not describe it well enough.  
I'd spend a little extra to book one of the other hotels in town next time.
