Mark and Linda were the best hosts! So friendly and welcoming! They really take pride in making sure everything is perfect! The rooms are very nice and clean. Very quiet. The breakfast was superb. So glad we stayed here vs staying in a hotel. Only a 10 min walk to town, and the  B&B is in a very nice neighborhood. We would most definitely stay here again!

Could not recommend this B and B any higher. Beautiful house,very clean, excellent food, great location and friendly owners.  We usually stay in hotel's in Athlone but after staying mithere we will 
choose  Shannonside first.

mark and linda very friendly and welcoming.room and bathroom spotlessly clean .tea 'coffee ,water provided in the room.the location was ideal for us. plenty of car parking space near to entrance .stay there aagain if we are ever back in athlone .top marks.

Linda and Mark are just lovely. We showed up an hour early to our check-in time and Linda was glad to show us to our room. The bed was super comfy, had a great nights sleep. Upon checking out we had a great long chat with Lina and Mark. We met their two beutiful pups Bailey and Jenny. Would highly recommend.

Our room again was spotless, airy and bright. 
Located in a lovely quiet area which in turn gave us a comfortable nights sleep.
Mark and Linda were great hosts making us feel very welcome in their house. 
If we are ever up in Athlone again we will definitely be booking Shannonside House.

The place was spotless clean. The rooms are very cozy and have their own bathrooms. Very conveniently placed at walking distance from Athlone center. The owners are very friendly and a hoot to chat with. Oh, and be sure to get the full Irish breakfast. It is delicious.

Very cozy place with great hosts. Made us feel welcome from get go. Room was exactly as promised. Comfortable beds, large storage and coffee, tea and biscuits available. The highlight for our 10 year old son was when he was able to meet the 2 lovely dogs the hosts had in their private quarters. If we will have the opportunity to come back to Athlone we will stay here again. 😊

The place is very clean and well preserved with nice rooms. Owners are vey nice and helpful who gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and other visits. Breakfast is good. It is located at 10 minutes walk from town center

An absolute gem very close to town but in a quiet area. Rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable, with great facilities, and the breakfast is great. Mark and Linda are lovely hosts and really look after you. Great value, a must-stay! Will be back!

Would highly recommend this beautiful guest house mark and Linda are lovely people and looked after us really well. The room was absolutely spotless and the breakfast 2nd to none . A must stay if anyone visits athlone with town centre 5 mins walk away. We will definitely be back there

A true gem!

Lovely owners

Very pleasant 1 nights stay at Shannonside Bed and Breakfast. Extremely friendly and welcoming, house had a “lovely feel”. Bedroom very comfortable, tea making facilities and 2 bottles of water.  Very comfortable sitting room for guests to relax in the evening.  My brother-in-law who was travelling with us from Australia gave it 15/10

The rooms were very nice and we could not fault the facilities. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious and great value for money. There was ample free parking. The location was quiet and only a very short walk into town. I would highly recommend a stay.

Lovely family run B&B

This is a very well run, lovely B&B with a scrumptuous breakfast provided in a lovely dining room overlooking the Shannon River.  The bedroom itself had a full ensuite bathroom with highly upgraded appointments including a jacuzzi tub and  separate walk-in  rain shower off the queen bedroom with private television, desk and wardrobe cupboard. I especially liked the blackout drapes that enhanced my ability to get to sleep in the comfortable bed and stay soundly sleeping until mid morning.  The proprietor was also very helpful finding me a healthcare professional when I needed to see to getting help adjusting my back. Though I was having to rush back to Dublin and could only spend the one night at Shannonside,  I would love to return for a sojourn in the Midlands to some of the other sights near Athlone I couldn't take advantage of this trip.  Athlone Castle is certainly worth a look and there is a wonderful horse museum I would go back to see, and a big pulling contest the region is reknowned for, not to mention the Cassels designed Belvedere House in nearby Mullingar. I met another couple who had spent a relaxing week at Shannonside  B&B and told me all the things they had enjoyed.  I am truly looking forward to returning and highly recommend staying at Shannonside if you are crossing the midlands to or from Dublin or the West Coast/Galway, etc.!  Great Hosts and hospitality in a quiet riverside setting close  to Athlone center with a feel of country fresh air...

Welcoming B& B with great views of the Shannon River and Fabulous accommodations

Stayed one night as I was working in the area. The house is beautifully furnished, sparkling clean and felt very cosy on a cold winter's night. Both Mark and Linda are warm & welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, a wide choice including gluten free cereals & bread. Definitely would stay again & highly recommend to others.

Lovely B and B

Very pleased with this accommodation. Hygiene excellent. Friendly and helpful hosts. Very local to town and amenities. Would definitely return and reccomend. Check in  is 4pm. Bit earlier would have suited us better so we could have refreshed before going into town for food.
