Harty Costello Townhouse

Great hotel in a fun little town along the Wild Atlantic Way ( WAW). Jackie (spelling) the owner was excellent, very friendly gentleman. The entire hotel staff was very warm and welcoming.

It was a pleasure getting to know Jackie.  He was very accommodating, friendly and made excellent recommendations for dining and interesting facts about the area.  We appreciated the stories he shared.

Comfortable and quiet room. Hosts very helpful. Good choice of breakfast.

Great place to stay in the centre of ballybunion. Check in was efficient & quick. The guest house rooms are upstairs up a few flight of stairs.
The rooms are very big, almost like a suite. Bedroom spotless & very comfy bed.

Accommodations were old school, but lovely it was clean and well kept. Jack and Jackie were great. Can’t wait to return.

John and Jackie are very gracious hosts.  We had several morning tee times and they arranged early breakfasts for us ... 0630!  Hotel is conveniently located in town with several walkable dining options.  John recommended some tourist sites for us to explore the West Coast of Ireland.  They both provided great stories about the history of Ballybunion and the origins of the golf course.  We appreciated their hospitality.

The best hotel we stayed in on our trip! Clean and modern inside, very quiet and convenient parking. Lovely owners. Highly recommend.

Comfortable hotel with spacious room and ensuite. Toilrtitires and tea making facilities provided. Great location - walking distance to various pubs, eateries and most importantly the beautiful beaches.

Charming guest house in central ballybunion

We had an excellent stay at Harty Costello. The hospitality was superb, from the warm welcome on arrival from Jackie to the exceptional service from Angela at breakfast. Before we could even think to ask for something it had already been taken care of by Angela. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Overall, such a pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back. Thank you Jackie and Angela for such a lovely stay in Ballybunion.

Hospitality at its finest!

We booked Harty Costello townhouse after two previous bookings were cancelled. However when we were welcomed at the door on Monday afternoon by the owner, Jackie Hourigan, a very friendly and charming Irish gentleman we knew we were in the right hotel. The service was excellent and Jackie and his assistant, Sandra couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The room was well presented, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very well cooked. I would recommend Harty Costello Townhouse to anyone visiting Ballybunion. I sure Jackie and Sandra will treat you exactly the same

Very friendly and enjoyable  stay in Ballybunion

Jackie at Harty Costello always makes you feel welcome.However this year they haven't been able to re-open their bar and restaurant due to a lack of outside space and Covid regulations so guests have to eat out in the evening (plenty of choice in the town), but the Harty Costello breakfast is as good as ever!

a great welcome

Lovely little gem in Ballybunion. Rooms are very spacious,clean and well laid out. Breakfast was very good and the owners and staff couldn’t have been better. Very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future. I highly recommend this hotel, you won’t be disappointed. 

One night stay

This is a lovely bed and breakfast, we had a good size room with comfortable beds. Jackie is a fantastic host, he made us very welcome and gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to do. The breakfasts are very good, with lots to choose from. Highly recommend a stay here not only for all the above but also for the great location.

This is in the middle of town a few steps from the beach. The place is old and quaint, but perfectly clean and spacious and comfortable. Real ballybunion if you ever want to experience it. The rooms have one big bed and one small one and a sitting area. Enough power outlets for all your chargers. And although it’s above all the pubs, it’s somehow eerily quiet. Highly recommended. We loved it.

The owner was the most friendly person I met my whole time in Ireland.  Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding.  I was there just before the peak season, so the restaurant/bar wasn't open yet, but there were several options nearby.  Would highly recommend the Harty Costello to anyone visiting Ballybunion.

Great place to stay in Ballybunion

Received a warm welcome from owner Frankie after my last minute booking for a 1 night extension to my stay elsewhere. Great power shower was welcome after long walk and room was very quiet despite being so conveniently located on the main street. Excellent high quality breakfast selection. Look forward to staying again. Frankie couldn't have been more hospitable.
