We checked Athens Cottage through previous Tripadvisor ratings and reviews and were not disappointed. It is a small family run place. If your goal is to get 5 star amenities you have to book a five star hotel. if however you want a relaxing place, this is it. You have basic amenities. You have wonderful home cooked food. You have the family going all out to assist you, take you out on drives to see Munnar and more. In the morning, we would make tea/coffee, sit in front of the room and look at the view, and listen to birds and insects. As you have to take a car or walk half a kilometre (or so it seemed) from the mainroad, even a thief would think twice. So the place is safe. And the food was not just wonderful. It was so inexpensive that we felt as though we were imposing on them.
