TIH Tsomoriri Hotel Lake View

Like the name suggest Lake View Hotel in Tsomoriri is one of the oldest accommodation service provider in Changthang Korzok region. The rooms are good if we book the rooms with Lake view but those rooms are their premium rooms. Other basic rooms are also good as comparison with the remote region where the people are nomads. There are tented camps and Cottage aswell but Hotel like Tsomoriri Lake View is none.

We a group of 14 people reached there around 3 PM on 20.08.2023, a wonderful reception, staffs are very cordial. Rooms were neat & clean. Buffets ( breakfast & dinner) were really good considering the remote locations. I would recommend everyone. 

Good stay at an uncommercial place. Other places at Tsomoriri are mostly tents. If ur travelling with family specially kids then go fornthis place. 
Food is also OK.
Stayed for one night so no complaints.
Only thing to be remembered...only 4 hr electricity at night.

The hotel provides kind of 'Luxary' service and comfort in a remotely located village like Korzok. The rooms are very much spacious, clean and tidy. The rooms has attached toilets and those as well are above average. The stuffs and owner are friendly and they talked with us for long duration telling about their day to day life and the winter struggles. The room on the 2nd floor offers a hypnotic view of the Tso Moriri Lake, which is just a mere 10 minutes walk from the hotel itself. The food (Veg) was great. The hotel also contains the only satellite phone present in the region, though it generally stays occupied and have a long queue. So i would recommend this place for the ones traveling with family and wants the comfort of home outside home. If you are seeking absolute adventure then you might look for other tents in this area.

It takes 7-8hrs to reach Tsomoriri from Leh with 1 Lunch break at Chumathang.Eat light as journey is long and roads are just okay. Scenery is breathtaking with Indus flowing down and huge barren mountains. An hour or so before Tsomoriri, you will find another smaller lake. It is also beautiful and you can stop(if time allows).
Hotel room & bathroom was neat with access to hot water. They have dinner buffet and basic breakfast. People are nice & helpful. It is recommended to book the place if going during peak time.We reached Tsomoriri without any booking and were looking for a place to stay on 9th Sep(Sunday),after finishing Leh Marathon the same day. Walk for few minutes to reach the lake and spend an afternoon watching quaint lake changing colors from jade to deep blue and orange in the evening. Less tourists than Pangong so we preferred the location.

All things were decent. But more than a hotel, you would get a guest house feel. Rooms are decent. The views of Tsomoriri lake is the best part. Would recommend it but don't keep very high expectations.

In this inhospitable terrain, it's nothing short of brave to run a hotel. Hotel Lake View is one of the handful of hotels/ home stays in Korzok. I reached here in the evening & was shown to my room on the second floor. Climbing to the second floor in this high altitude left me breathless.

My room was warm with adequate quilts. But please note it was extremely basic. While I was told hot water will come, that didn't happen. The hotel was full though despite being the beginning of the off season.

When I went down for dinner, I was having a terrible time medically. One of the servers took good care of me & gave me hot water to drink etc. But the best part was the view of the Tso Moriri from my room.

The lake was at a walking distance too but I didn't have the courage to go. The dinner was basic - roti & mixed vegetables. Same for breakfast - Bread, omelet & tea.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in mid Sep.. The village was receiving its first snowfall when we visited...We had reached karzok by 12 pm from hanle when the weather had turned bad and it was snowing.. Our driver bought us to this hotel and siad it was the only and best hotel in the area.. We had a look at the rooms on the ground floor and they didnt seem that good.. so we thought to have a look at the nearby guesthouses and homestays... but non were good neither looked basic clean..There seemed two hotels/big guesthouses but either they were under construction and no one to attend us.. so we had to return back to this hotel.. We were told rooms at higher floors had higher prices..So we thought to have a look at them.. The rooms on the upper floors are way better.. They are clean with good beds and clean linens.. The bathrooms large  and clean.. Though no hot water.. But most of ladakh i.e pangong,hanle and tso moriri have electricity in the eve  for 4 hours and hence running hot water is no way possible.. They provide hot water in buckets only...We had lunch at the hotel and the lunch being exquisitely cooked for us was simply lip smacking..However as the day grew there were more and more people checking in and by evening the hotel was already full... Buffet dinner was basic and average.. Morning buffet breakfast was also average...But the people of ladakh are just charming.. I always felt they are people with purest hearts.. I have loved talking to the people working there.. Anyways it was unfortunate that it was snowing and we could not view the actual colors of tso moriri..Infact the lake itself was barely visible due to snowfall...We did go at the lake view point to get a closer look of the lake but still the lake was barely visible and the mountains in the backdrop had disappeared due to fog and snowfall... The hotels had room facing the lake.. do choose the rooms on 1st floor.. Their dining room is also on the first floor.. Overall i would opt to stay here again....

Rooms are OK in size but looks more like hostel...food is not good...gets terribly cold at night....required O2 inhalation as sp02 got down to 60% ...those with good lung compliance should only choose tsomoriri lake...as you are not allowed near because of fencing unlike pangong...best to avoid it in your itinerary...roads are terrible 

Cramped up place...but Ok considering harsh weather

This is the only hotel like structure in this area and a concrete one, we were there in May but it was really cold, they provided us with extra blanket and hot water bag but the lack of the heater is felt here when it gets cold like this. The food is basic and decent too. The place has a great view of the lake and is stunning during the time we went.
