An overnight stay on a traditional Alleppy house boat is one the biggest attraction for this region of india.

Back water hotspot - Alleppy

Dear Friends,

I would like to share my own experience and please take a note of it very seriously. I stayed there on 25th Mar only for a night and it was terrible. 

Cons:
1. The hotel was very far from the town and infact the location is terrible. It took us lots of time to locate the place. After reaching to a certain point by car we reached to a end of the road. Then the hotel sent us a motor boat to take us to the hotel. It took around 12-15 mins to reach the hotel. 
2. As the location of the hotel is very close to back water so the place is full of insects and everytime you would open the door after 6PM you can see lots of insects coming into your room. 
3. There was no proper restaurent as all..they have kept a open room as restaurent. And its not possible to have dinner in that place as you ca expect insects, lizards and snakes all around
4. As the hotel is located far from the town and there was no proper mode of communication so the night we stayed there we were the only family staying there. 
5. In the morning i could see many big wild lizards in our room. I would also share the pictures
6. in every 5-10 mins the current goes off and there power backup is terrible. 
7. AC doesn't work.
8. Room was stinking and we asked them if they could spray room freshner. Buy they denied. 

So i would suggest please avoid staying in such places if you are with family. 
It is not a resort in any point. I would say it is a "homestay". The guy at the reception knew nothing about hospitability. 

And please don't get into the hotel by looking at the pics. 
And i would say, you can stay in this place if you dont mind insects, lizards and even rattle snakes in your room. 

They have very 3-4 staffs to manage everything so its always better to be safe.

Terrible Night at HollyHock. Avoid the place to be safe.

we had been to hollyhocks resort, alleppy on24/10/2014. Very bad hotel. 1. In 2 out of 3 rooms, AC was not working. When complained they said Generator will start later on. Every 10 mins, AC suddenly stops and make noise. After repeated asking and calling, a person came and said he doesn't know what to do next. Manager had left just after we check in. When we asked to call manager, that man never try to call him. 2. Mosquito repelent just didn't have any effect on mosquitoes. 3. In room no. 101, room cann't be locked from outside, check picture. 4. In room 105, we can't have facility to lock room from inside,check picture.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 In each room, toilet had open roof, but because of that there are plenty of insects in toilet as u switch on the light. 5. While taking dinner,only plate were given, no cup or spoon, very poor hospitality.
