We had a wonderful few days at Kaits. We had a good welcome and our room had what we needed. The outlook is stunning and we spent a lot of time in the pagoda over the river, watching houseboats, the little man-powered ferry and also the bird-life. Jossy's children took us on an evening walk to look for birds and were friendly and chatty. Delightful kids! We loved the sunrise boat rip and used the kyak. Meals in the pagoda were really special. This is a very good choice for  backwater's accommodation.

Nice beautiful property. Peaceful and calm place with good ambience. Good view of the lake. Would have been top class if the room quality is improved. Slightly far from Alappuzha; but worth the travel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kaits, just outside Allepi.  The accommodation was good, service excellent and the food very good.  The location was lovely - on the water's edge and lovely and peaceful - 30 minutes from the bustle of downtown Allepi.  It's possible to rent canoes and explore the waterway.  It's a really nice way of seeing life along the waterway - especially at dawn and dusk.

Idyllic setting on waterways in Allepi

Wonderful location. Lovely hosts.

Good stay

One night stay in idyllic surrounds on banks of Backwaters.  Chose a traditional Keralan room which had excellent A/C and very white, clean bed linen and towels.  Unfortunately the rest of the room needed a good clean and the table we had our evening meal on in the lobby was thick with dust.  The outside bathroom also needed some attention - the back of the toilet leaked all over the floor; paintwork tatty.  Good wifi.  Lovely water-side gazebo. Good food.  Friendly, courteous and helpful staff.  Outside there was a lot of old plastic and rubble littering the grounds so a good ‘tidy up’ would be beneficial.  It could be significantly more inviting for Europeans with a bit of TLC.

Idyllic Surroundings

Location was fantastic.  the family is good.  But evening are difficult due to mosquito hazard.  the rooms all overlook the back waters and hence location is the best.  food is served in a sit out which feels just in the waters.  this makes the food even more great because of the location.

food was good and tasty.
