We had a most interresting tour through the organic cardamom garden,all well explained by owner,Mr.Thomas.
He's also doing his own research for disease control in his lab with em organism,wich I am familiar with.
Thomas explained all the various plants,like pepper,vanilla,bananas,coffee,cocoa and so many more of the plants and trees growing there.



Thomas and his wife were so gracious. We had a scrumptious farm-to-table type of lunch, then Thomas walked us around his property, explaining the scientific testing and research he is doing. He has a lab near the farm/plantation. He is working on microbiological ways of making plants healthy and knows the properties of each spice or fruit and what they do. 

The views on the other side of a gate on his land, where you walk between the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, leads to a spectacular view of the surrounding hills and the lush valleys of this high part of Kerala, where spices are grown. 

We spent such enjoyable time with this couple at this heritage center. And be sure to learn about the ancestral home he disassembled in Tamil Nadu and transported and reassembled in Kerala. It is just beautiful, and a very old, traditional home, right over a little bridge from their home, in the center of the spice (and other plants) farm.

Heartfelt thanks for hosting us at your spice plantation. Gary and I enjoyed learning about your soil and plant microbiology and its effect on the human microbiome. We were fascinated by it. We loved your delicious lunch, using Masala spices and locally sourced beans and passion fruits. Gary and I learned so much on your land, a little piece of heaven. Thank you.

Absolutely the best guided farm visit i had in India. Very informative and nice guide. Also on the history of farming in Kerala. They ask voor 200 rs for a visit which is well worth it. It doesn't feel touristy, but as a real working plantation. Highly recommended!

If u want to visit a spice garden with a very friendly and super knowledgeable owner - and without bus loads of tourists - choose this place. You will learn everything u want to know about spices - where they come from, what they get used for, how a spice plantation owner and his family have built a beautiful little domain from scratch - starting from nothing and in utter respect of bio principles. You can also buy locally grown cardamon, pepper, ginger and turmeric. 
And if U want to, u can also learn about the history of the Syriac church in Kerala. 

All genuine and Not too be missed.
